Etihad Airways Introduces A321LR Flights to Kolkata, Elevating Regional and Global Air Travel
Etihad Airways has entered a new era of premium regional travel with the delivery of its first Airbus A321LR, setting new standards for comfort and connectivity on narrowbody aircraft. This aircraft is the first of 30 A321LRs on order and will soon begin commercial operations, bringing luxury air travel to key cities including Kolkata, Paris, Milan, Bangkok, and Phuket. Kolkata Joins Etihad’s Premium Route Network
Kolkata, the cultural capital of India, has been selected as one of the inaugural destinations for the new Airbus A321LR. Starting late September, the aircraft will connect the eastern Indian metropolis with Etihad’s hub in Abu Dhabi, offering travelers direct access to the airline’s expanding global network.

Beyond Kolkata, the A321LR will serve 14 global destinations including:
- Europe: Paris, Milan, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Krakow, Zurich

- North Africa & Middle East: Algiers, Tunis
- India: Kolkata
Its operational flexibility allows Etihad to use the aircraft on both regional and longer international routes, thus optimizing fuel efficiency while delivering world-class service.
