Dubai has launched a new plan to work with travel agents in Australia and New Zealand. The Dubai Advocacy Programme will reward the best agents who promote the city as a top holiday and stopover spot.
The aim is simple: create a group of well-trained agents who know Dubai inside out. These agents will share the city’s highlights with their clients, making it easier for travellers to choose Dubai.
A Focus on Partnership
Shahab Shayan, Regional Director for the Asia-Pacific, says this is about teamwork. “Agents from Australia and New Zealand have helped shape how people see Dubai,” he explained. “We want to give them tools, recognition, and the latest updates so they can sell Dubai with confidence.”
The programme was developed with Julie King & Associates and in partnership with Emirates. Together, they will give agents better resources and more chances to grow in their careers.
Three Levels of Achievement
The programme has three stages:
- Advocate
- Certified Ambassador
- Destination Champion
Each level matches the agent’s experience, sales success, and knowledge of Dubai. The higher the level, the more benefits they receive.
Who Can Join
Agents must have the Dubai Expert certificate and must have visited the city. They also need to train other agents, hit certain sales goals for Dubai and Emirates, and take part in events. Regular progress reports are required to stay in the programme.
What Agents Get
Members enjoy several benefits:
- Invitations to VIP events in Australia, New Zealand, and Dubai
- Access to new product launches and destination updates
- Priority on familiarisation trips and top achiever tours
- Incentives for high performance
- Special hotel and experience rates in Dubai
- Recognition within the travel industry
These perks help agents stay informed, grow their business, and give better service to their clients.
How to Apply
Interested agents can contact the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. They will receive a form to check eligibility. Those selected will be informed before the programme officially starts.
Why It Matters
This plan is part of Dubai’s strategy to attract more long-haul visitors. By working closely with skilled agents, Dubai can reach more travellers in Australia and New Zealand. It’s a win-win—agents get training and rewards, and Dubai gains more visitors.
With Emirates on board, the programme offers both global reach and local expertise. It will help position Dubai as a must-see destination, whether for a short stopover or a full holiday.
