Hilton Strengthens Its Presence in Makkah with New Hotel Rebrandings to Support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

Hilton expands in Makkah with two hotel rebrandings, boosting tourism, modern hospitality, and Vision 2030’s growth goals in Saudi Arabia.

Hilton Hotels continues to strengthen its foothold in Saudi Arabia with a new partnership that brings two major hotel rebrandings to Makkah. This strategic move reflects the company’s commitment to advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and promoting the Kingdom as a world-class destination for tourism and hospitality.

The agreement with Wirgan Hospitality, announced during the World Travel Market in London, will see the rebranding of the Wirgan Al Noor and the DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah. Both hotels will operate under Hilton’s premium brands, offering guests modern comfort, exceptional service, and close proximity to the city’s most sacred and historic sites.

Expanding Hilton’s Footprint in Makkah

With these new rebrandings, Hilton will nearly double its operational capacity in Makkah, raising its total to more than 4,100 rooms. This expansion represents a significant investment in one of the world’s most visited religious destinations. It also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance its hospitality infrastructure to meet the needs of millions of annual visitors.

By the end of 2025, both rebranded properties will open to guests, offering contemporary accommodations that reflect Hilton’s global standards.

Wirgan Al Noor Joins the Tapestry Collection

The Wirgan Al Noor will transition into Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, a brand known for its boutique luxury and distinctive local character. Located near the historic Jabal Al Noor, the hotel’s position gives visitors easy access to some of the most meaningful sites in Islamic history.

The property features 1,386 rooms and an array of amenities designed for both comfort and convenience. Guests can enjoy two spacious ballrooms covering over 1,100 square meters, eight meeting rooms, and multiple restaurants serving diverse international cuisines. Fitness facilities, a children’s club, and a shuttle service to Masjid al-Haram ensure a seamless experience for families, business guests, and pilgrims.

With its combination of location, scale, and service, the rebranded property will become a new benchmark for upscale hospitality in the Holy City.

DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah Welcomes Global Pilgrims

The DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah, located in the heart of the Aziziyah district, will serve as another cornerstone of Hilton’s growing presence in Saudi Arabia. This district holds special importance for Hajj pilgrims due to its proximity to Mina, Jamarat, and other sacred sites.

The hotel’s 381 rooms and suites are designed to meet the needs of both international tourists and pilgrims. Visitors can enjoy dining options that highlight both global and local flavors, as well as a business center, a children’s club, and modern meeting spaces. Like its sister property, the hotel will also provide transportation to the Haram, ensuring easy access for guests performing Umrah or Hajj.

Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

Hilton’s expansion directly supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the national economy and strengthen tourism as a key growth sector. With Makkah playing a central role in religious tourism, improving hospitality infrastructure remains a core focus of the Kingdom’s development plans.

These rebranded hotels will help increase the city’s capacity to host the growing number of pilgrims visiting for Umrah and Hajj. They will also create new employment opportunities and contribute to the local economy.

Hilton’s focus aligns with the government’s goal of welcoming 100 million annual visitors by 2030. By offering world-class accommodations, Hilton ensures that Makkah remains a destination where spirituality meets modern comfort.

Hilton’s Expanding Role in Saudi Arabia

Hilton currently operates 21 hotels across Saudi Arabia, with 83 additional properties in various stages of development. The company’s goal is to become a leading hospitality partner in the Kingdom’s tourism transformation.

This includes growth across multiple market segments, from luxury resorts to business hotels, each designed to deliver the quality and service that define the Hilton name. The partnership with Wirgan Hospitality represents another step in expanding Hilton’s Middle Eastern portfolio, especially in high-demand cities like Makkah, Riyadh, and Jeddah.

Enhancing Makkah’s Hospitality Landscape

The introduction of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection and DoubleTree brands to Makkah will significantly enhance the city’s hospitality landscape. Both hotels will combine elegance, convenience, and authenticity, appealing to a wide range of travelers.

For religious pilgrims, the hotels provide comfort and accessibility near key landmarks. For leisure and business travelers, they offer luxury amenities, event spaces, and international dining experiences. Hilton’s renowned service will ensure that guests experience a seamless blend of tradition and innovation during their stay.

Commitment to Excellence and Innovation

Hilton’s growth in Makkah underscores its long-term vision for Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The company remains focused on sustainability, cultural integration, and community engagement, ensuring that every property contributes positively to its surroundings.

Both rebranded hotels will embrace Hilton’s commitment to innovation through digital check-in, contactless services, and eco-friendly practices. These initiatives support Saudi Arabia’s vision of building a smart, sustainable, and welcoming tourism ecosystem.

Looking Ahead: Makkah’s Future as a Global Destination

With Hilton’s latest expansion, Makkah continues its transformation into a modern hub that caters to millions of visitors from across the world. The rebranding of the Wirgan Al Noor and DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah will not only enhance the city’s accommodation options but also elevate its global reputation for hospitality excellence.

As these hotels open their doors in 2025, they will mark another milestone in Makkah’s journey toward becoming a symbol of world-class hospitality guided by heritage, faith, and progress. Hilton’s continued investment ensures that every traveler, whether pilgrim or tourist, experiences Makkah with comfort, care, and a touch of global luxury.
