Philippine Airlines Adds New Frequencies on Manila–Los Angeles Route

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will significantly increase flight capacity on its flagship Manila–Los Angeles route starting June 2026. The airline plans to raise weekly flights from fourteen to eighteen to meet strong and rising travel demand between Asia and North America. This major expansion reinforces PAL’s commitment to providing more flight options and smoother travel experiences for millions of passengers.

Increased Frequency to Meet Strong Travel Demand

Travel between the Philippines and the US West Coast continues to surge. To respond to this trend, PAL will operate additional flights on select days. The airline currently maintains two daily services using long-haul widebody aircraft. The upcoming schedule will increase frequencies to three flights per day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The move gives passengers more flexibility when choosing their travel dates and times. It also helps reduce congestion on one of the busiest long-haul routes that connects the Philippines with North America.

Better Access Between the US and Asia

The added Manila–Los Angeles flights support growing connectivity across the Asia–US corridor. With more options to fly, passengers gain improved access to onward destinations in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

The airline’s expanded presence helps strengthen tourism ties, support business travel, and cater to overseas Filipino communities. It also improves travel continuity for passengers connecting from Los Angeles to regional hubs such as Manila, Cebu, and Davao.

PAL Strengthens Its North America Network

The increase in Los Angeles services is part of PAL’s broader expansion strategy in North America. The airline is also boosting seats to other major US cities in the coming months. By late 2025, services between Manila and Seattle will rise from three to five flights weekly. PAL already maintains daily flights to San Francisco, five weekly flights to Honolulu, and regular services to New York.

This strategic network growth positions PAL as a more competitive carrier in the trans-Pacific market. More routes and higher flight frequency allow the airline to cater to tourism growth, family visits, business travel, and increased cargo demand.

Improved Regional and Domestic Connections

The expanded Los Angeles schedule will support PAL’s wider domestic and regional network. Travelers arriving from the US will enjoy smoother onward connections to top Philippine destinations. This includes the country’s leading tourist hotspots such as Palawan, Boracay, Siargao, and Cebu.

The airline’s partnerships with regional operators also help passengers reach neighboring Asian destinations with minimal layovers.

New Cebu–Guam Nonstop Flights

PAL is also opening new regional services to broaden travel options across the Pacific. Starting December 16, 2025, the airline will begin direct Cebu–Guam flights three times weekly. This marks the only nonstop service between the Visayas region and Guam.

The route will support tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Central Philippines and the Western Pacific island. It also ensures faster access for both leisure and business travelers.

Enhancing the Travel Experience

The airline emphasizes that network expansion is part of its long-term goal to improve customer experience. More choices, shorter wait times, and smoother connections help travelers enjoy easier and more efficient journeys. PAL continues to invest in service upgrades, improved flight schedules, and modern aircraft to support its growing global network.

A Major Step Toward Better Asia–US Connectivity

Starting June 2026, Philippine Airlines’ expanded Manila–Los Angeles operations will offer more convenient travel options and support the rising demand for Asia–North America routes. With increased frequency, new routes, and stronger regional links, PAL aims to serve passengers with greater efficiency and comfort.

The airline’s move reflects a forward-looking strategy to strengthen its global footprint while supporting the Philippines’ tourism and economic growth.
