Vietnam Strengthens Premium Coastal Travel with New Sam Son Resort Tower

Vietnam has added a new chapter to its fast-growing upscale tourism sector with the opening of Sky Vista at Lasong Hotel & Villas Sam Son. The new tower launches on 24 April 2026 and completes the second and final phase of the coastal resort developed under The Unlimited Collection brand by The Ascott Limited.

The opening gives northern Vietnam a fresh luxury tourism asset at a time when demand for wellness-led beach escapes continues to grow across Asia and international markets. It also places Sam Son more firmly on the radar of travelers looking beyond the country’s established resort hotspots.

With premium rooms, spa experiences, event facilities, and year-round leisure amenities, Sky Vista is expected to broaden visitor choice while supporting longer stays and higher-value tourism spending in Thanh Hoa Province.

Sam Son Gains Momentum as a Coastal Destination

Located on Vietnam’s scenic northern coast, Sam Son has long attracted domestic holidaymakers. Now, however, the destination is evolving into a more sophisticated leisure market with upgraded infrastructure and new hospitality investment.

The arrival of Sky Vista strengthens that transformation. Together with the previously launched Ocean Vista wing, Lasong Hotel & Villas Sam Son now offers a full-scale premium resort experience designed for couples, families, corporate groups, and wellness travelers.

That matters for Vietnam’s tourism strategy. As traveler preferences shift toward experience-rich stays, secondary coastal destinations with quality accommodation can attract new demand while easing pressure on more crowded markets.

New Rooms Expand Luxury Accommodation Supply

Sky Vista introduces 190 additional rooms across two accommodation categories. Grand Deluxe rooms, ranging from 24 to 29 square meters, target couples and short-break travelers who want comfort, views, and private outdoor space. Executive Suites, ranging from 39 to 52 square meters, cater to families and guests seeking more room for extended stays.

Each category includes private balconies with sea or city views, natural light, and wellness-inspired design touches. Those features align with current guest expectations, as travelers increasingly favor bright interiors, private outdoor areas, and restful layouts that support relaxation.

For Sam Son, the added inventory can help the destination capture more weekend traffic, holiday demand, and multi-night visitors from key domestic and regional source markets.

Wellness Tourism Takes Center Stage

Sky Vista places wellness at the heart of its guest experience, reflecting one of the strongest trends in global tourism. The headline attraction is a jjimjilbang, a traditional Korean bathhouse concept built around hydrotherapy and thermotherapy.

Guests will move through a 14-step wellness journey that includes hot and cold soaking pools and a collection of specialized sauna rooms. These include Ganbanyoku stone therapy, a yellow clay room, a Himalayan salt sauna, and a Hinoki oxygen room.

This distinctive concept gives the resort a clear market advantage. Rather than offering only a standard spa, Sky Vista introduces a deeper wellness program that blends relaxation, recovery, and cultural discovery.

Travelers increasingly book trips around health goals, stress relief, and restorative experiences. Therefore, resorts with strong wellness credentials often generate higher guest spending and stronger repeat visitation.

Vietnamese Beauty Partnerships Add Local Identity

The wellness offer continues at La Bông Spa, where guests can choose massages, skincare, and body therapies. In a notable local partnership, the spa uses products from Vietnamese vegan beauty brand Cocoon, made with natural ingredients sourced in Vietnam.

That approach strengthens the property’s sense of place while appealing to eco-conscious travelers. It also reflects a wider hospitality trend in which hotels use local brands, ingredients, and design elements to create more authentic experiences.

For international guests, those details can make a stay feel more connected to the destination rather than interchangeable with any global resort.

Four-Season Pool and Leisure Facilities Support Year-Round Travel

Sky Vista also features a four-season swimming pool, allowing guests to swim and unwind regardless of seasonal weather changes. That capability can help smooth demand beyond peak summer travel periods.

Year-round amenities are increasingly valuable in coastal markets. They encourage off-season bookings, wellness weekends, and short breaks throughout the calendar year. As a result, hotels can maintain stronger occupancy while destinations benefit from more consistent visitor flows.

Dining and Social Spaces Enhance Guest Experience

Food and beverage experiences remain central to modern resort travel, and Sky Vista aims to meet that demand with multiple venues.

Guests can enjoy restaurants and bars designed for both casual and premium occasions. Social spaces such as a coffee bar and poolside outlets give visitors flexible options throughout the day, while elevated dining settings support celebrations, romantic stays, and premium leisure travel.

Strong dining choices often influence traveler reviews, length of stay, and total spending. Consequently, diverse culinary offerings can play a direct role in a resort’s long-term success.

Meetings, Events, and Bleisure Demand Get a Boost

The resort also includes more than 4,000 square feet of flexible event space, private lounges, and function areas. That addition positions Sky Vista to compete for meetings, retreats, incentive groups, weddings, and private celebrations.

The growing “bleisure” segment, where travelers combine business with leisure time, makes integrated resorts especially attractive. Guests can attend meetings during the day, then move directly into spa treatments, beach activities, or dining experiences.

For Sam Son, this opens new revenue streams beyond traditional holiday travel.

Strong Signal for Vietnam’s Premium Tourism Future

The completion of Sky Vista sends a strong signal about confidence in Vietnam’s luxury tourism outlook. Global hospitality groups continue to invest where they see rising demand, strong domestic travel, and expanding international appeal.

For airlines, more upscale supply can stimulate route demand. For local businesses, new visitors create opportunities in transport, dining, retail, and excursions. For travelers, the result is more choice on Vietnam’s coastline.

With the opening of Sky Vista, Sam Son moves into a stronger position as an emerging premium beach destination—one that blends wellness, culture, and modern hospitality in a market with growing global appeal.
