Aman will enter South Korea with Aman Seoul, an ambitious urban development bringing a luxury hotel, private branded residences and an exclusive Aman Club to Seoul’s prestigious Gangnam District.
Created with Shinsegae Property, the asset management and property development business, Aman Seoul will overlook the Han River from Cheongdam. The neighbourhood is widely recognised for luxury retail, fashion and contemporary design, positioning the project within one of the capital’s most desirable areas.
The integrated destination will serve international visitors, South Korean residents, homeowners and Aman members. It will combine accommodation, private living, dining, wellness and social facilities within a carefully designed urban sanctuary.
No opening date was announced. However, the project represents an important addition to Seoul’s luxury hospitality pipeline and a significant milestone in Aman’s global expansion.
A private sanctuary above the capital
Aman Seoul is being designed as a peaceful retreat within the fast-moving South Korean capital. Its elevated position will give visitors modern views across the Han River while maintaining access to Gangnam’s commercial, cultural and lifestyle attractions.
The hotel, residences and private club will have separate entrances and personalised arrival experiences. This arrangement will give each component an individual identity while protecting privacy for guests, residents and members.
Aman’s approach could strengthen Seoul’s appeal among high-spending travellers seeking discretion, personalised attention and destination-led experiences. These visitors often support spending across luxury retail, fine dining, culture and private transportation, increasing the project’s potential contribution to the local visitor economy.
The opening will also add another globally recognised luxury name to a city whose international profile has expanded through technology, entertainment, fashion, beauty and contemporary culture.
Korean traditions shape the design
Aman Seoul’s design will draw inspiration from the relationship between Seoul’s historic traditions and modern innovation. Architecture, materials and craftsmanship will reflect Korean culture while maintaining the brand’s principles of simplicity, balance and connection to place.
Local experts and artisans will contribute to the development, helping create interiors grounded in the country’s heritage. Natural textures, minimalist forms and carefully balanced layouts will establish a calm atmosphere throughout the property.
The hotel will feature spacious suites, refined communal spaces and detailed elements influenced by traditional Korean design. This local emphasis can offer international guests a stronger sense of destination without sacrificing contemporary comfort.
Through Aman Interiors, residence owners will have access to bespoke furniture, selected finishes and the company’s signature aesthetic. The residential experience will extend Aman’s hospitality philosophy into private homes designed around generous space, craftsmanship and privacy.
Wellness anchors the guest experience
Wellbeing will form a central part of Aman Seoul through a multi-level spa and wellness centre. The facilities will support relaxation, restoration and holistic health within a private urban setting.
The project will also introduce a collection of dining experiences, including Aman’s signature culinary concepts. The food and beverage programme is expected to complement Seoul’s influential restaurant landscape while creating additional reasons for local residents and visitors to experience the development.
Meanwhile, Aman Club will provide a private environment for social interaction, recreation and personal wellbeing. Planned facilities include a private swimming pool, fitness amenities and elegant spaces created for residence owners and club members.
By combining wellness with dining, accommodation and membership, Aman Seoul will move beyond the conventional city hotel model. It will offer a complete lifestyle environment designed for repeat engagement rather than isolated overnight stays.
Branded residences expand luxury living
The limited collection of branded residences will allow owners to experience the Aman lifestyle permanently. Spacious interiors, tailored services and dedicated access will distinguish the homes from conventional luxury apartments.
Branded residences have become an increasingly visible part of global hospitality development because they connect private ownership with trusted service standards. At Aman Seoul, the residential component will sit alongside the hotel and club while retaining its independence.
This structure can also create a long-term community around the property. Hotel visitors may experience the destination temporarily, while homeowners and members will establish a continuing relationship with its restaurants, wellness services and social spaces.
Aman strengthens its urban portfolio
Aman Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vlad Doronin described Seoul as a global force at the intersection of culture, design, technology and wellness. He said the project reflects confidence in the city’s future and will create a permanent home for the Aman lifestyle in Gangnam.
Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin said Aman Seoul would represent more than a hotel development. He described it as a project intended to establish a new benchmark for luxury living in the city.
The development combines Shinsegae Property’s knowledge of South Korea with Aman’s experience in luxury hotels and branded residences. Its announcement follows a strategic collaboration between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, the American real estate business founded and led by Doronin.
Aman Seoul will join the brand’s established metropolitan properties in Tokyo, New York and Bangkok. Future urban projects are also planned for Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, Dubai and Singapore.
Together, these developments illustrate Aman’s evolution into an integrated lifestyle brand spanning hotels, residences, wellness and private membership. For Seoul, the new project promises an influential hospitality landmark that connects Gangnam’s energy with privacy, cultural expression and ultra-luxury living.
