A late arrival in Nairobi can now lead to a suite with a kitchen, workspace and laundry facilities just eight kilometres from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened voco Nairobi Airport Suites, bringing its premium voco brand to Kenya and East Africa for the first time.
The 112-suite hotel targets travellers whose plans extend beyond a conventional overnight stop. Its location near Mombasa Road places it within reach of the airport, Nairobi Expressway and Standard Gauge Railway terminus.
Guests can use a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle, making the property practical for early departures and late arrivals. The opening also adds extended-stay accommodation for business visitors, families and travellers using Nairobi as a starting point for journeys across Kenya.
For IHG, the launch expands voco’s presence into a new regional market. For Nairobi, it adds another internationally branded hotel near transport links that matter to both visitors and local businesses.
Suites Bring Flexibility to Longer Stays
voco Nairobi Airport Suites offers one-bedroom, two-bedroom and presidential suite categories. Each suite includes a separate lounge, dining area, equipped kitchenette, private workspace, balcony and laundry facilities.
Those features give guests more room to manage everyday routines. A traveller staying several nights can prepare a meal, work privately or wash clothes without leaving the suite.
The layout may also appeal to families who want living space separate from bedrooms. Business guests on longer assignments can combine hotel services with facilities usually associated with an apartment.
Short-stay visitors benefit from the same arrangement. A separate lounge gives passengers waiting for another flight space to rest, while the kitchen adds flexibility around irregular travel hours.
The hotel’s all-suite format sets it apart from a standard airport room. However, its value to travellers will depend on the length and purpose of each stay.

Location is central to the new hotel’s offer. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is approximately eight kilometres away, and the shuttle operates around the clock.

IHG Managing Director Haitham Mattar described the opening as a milestone for voco in East Africa. General Manager Amit Sharma said the hotel aims to make stays easier for travellers who want space and attentive service.
