Waldorf Astoria Osaka begins serving a limited-edition Glenfiddich whisky on 15 October 2026, ahead of its nationwide Japanese release. The hotel’s promotion runs until 30 November, combining the early preview with original cocktails and two guest bartending evenings.
The Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Aston Martin 2nd Edition will be available at Canes & Tales and Peacock Alley. Its limited nationwide release follows on 26 October, giving hotel visitors an opportunity to taste it before wider availability.
The announcement does not specify a tasting price, serving size or complimentary sampling arrangement for the limited-edition expression. The separately listed JPY3,300 cocktails use Glenfiddich 12 Year Old or 15 Year Old.
Early Access Anchors the Hotel Programme
Brown-Forman Japan, Glenfiddich’s authorised distributor in Japan, is organising the promotion at the luxury hotel in Osaka’s Umeda district.
The early-access period runs from 15 to 25 October, before the nationwide launch on 26 October. The wider hotel programme continues through November, extending beyond the release date.
This distinction matters for travellers planning a visit around the preview. Guests arriving after 26 October can still explore the promotional programme, although the whisky will have entered its national release period.
Travellers interested specifically in the limited-edition pour should confirm availability and serving details with the hotel before visiting.
Limited Edition Connects Whisky and Motorsport
The release marks the second year of Glenfiddich’s partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team. The 16-year-old single malt combines whisky matured across five cask types, with first-fill bourbon casks playing a central role.
The collaboration draws inspiration from Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman and Aston Martin’s Adrian Newey. Its presentation connects whisky craftsmanship with the precision and innovation associated with motorsport.
For hotel visitors, the programme provides a setting to explore the expression alongside a broader selection of Glenfiddich drinks. However, the original cocktails form a separate offering from the limited-edition whisky itself.
Canes & Tales Introduces Three Cocktails
Canes & Tales, on the hotel’s 28th floor, will serve three promotional cocktails priced at JPY3,300 each. All listed prices include applicable taxes and service charges.
Deer Fiddie combines Glenfiddich 12 Year Old with pear, lychee, homemade pear preserve and yoghurt. Milk washing gives the drink a softer texture.
Night Mont-Blanc uses Glenfiddich 15 Year Old alongside Japanese chestnut, roasted green tea, sherries, red grapes and cream cheese. Its ingredients give the cocktail an autumnal character.
Figgy Fizz brings together Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, figs, coffee beans, soda, ginger ale and black pepper. The combination offers a contrasting style built around fruit, spice and carbonation.
Peacock Alley Adds Two Further Creations
Peacock Alley, on the 29th floor, will offer two additional cocktails, also priced at JPY3,300 each.
Cuppa T combines Glenfiddich 12 Year Old with bergamot liqueur, passion fruit, ginger-infused honey and lemon. Its ingredients emphasise citrus and aromatic flavours.
Cereal Bowl takes inspiration from breakfast and dessert ingredients. The recipe combines Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, cereal, orange marmalade, orange liqueur, coconut water and English Breakfast tea.
A milk-clarification process gives Cereal Bowl a smooth finish. Together, the two venues provide five distinct cocktail choices during the promotion.
Jakarta and Tokyo Bartenders Visit Osaka
Two guest appearances at Canes & Tales add specific dates for visitors interested in cocktail craftsmanship.
On Thursday, 22 October, Demi, owner-bartender of HATS in Jakarta, will present specially prepared Glenfiddich drinks. The session runs from 8:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
On Friday, 30 October, Yujiro Kiyosaki, owner-bartender of Tokyo’s Bar Libre, will lead the second evening. His appearance follows the same operating hours.
Guest cocktails will remain available only while stocks last. These sessions offer separate experiences within the longer promotion rather than nightly appearances throughout its duration.
A Timed Experience for Osaka Visitors
The Waldorf Astoria Osaka Glenfiddich experience adds a limited-duration culinary activity for travellers staying in or exploring Umeda.
The hotel occupies the South Building of GRAND GREEN OSAKA at 5-54 Ofuka-cho, Kita-ku. Its two participating venues allow visitors to combine the programme with time elsewhere in the district.
For itinerary planning, three dates matter: the hotel preview begins on 15 October, nationwide release follows on 26 October, and the promotion ends on 30 November.
Guests should also distinguish the limited-edition whisky serving from the five priced cocktails and the two guest evenings when arranging their visit.
