Air Côte d’Ivoire Unveils Daily Abidjan–Paris Flights with A330-900neo Launch, know more

Daily A330‑900neo service links Abidjan to Paris from Sept 18, boosting West Africa‑Europe travel with premium cabins and long‑haul expansion.

In a bold step toward elevating West Africa’s global connectivity, Air Côte d’Ivoire, the national carrier of Côte d’Ivoire, is set to inaugurate its first daily flights between Abidjan and Paris, launching on September 18, 2025. This historic route, operated with ultra-modern Airbus A330‑900neo jets, heralds a new era in long-haul air travel from the region.

The brand‑new Airbus A330‑900neo, the airline’s first widebody, features a spacious four‑class configuration—first class, business, premium economy, and economy—with a total of 242 seats. It brings enhanced comfort, fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions, offering everything from luxurious first‑class suites to budget-friendly economy seats, meeting a wide spectrum of traveler needs.

Financing for the aircraft was secured through a significant investment package, including a US $76.6 million Islamic‑compliant Sukuk facility from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD), alongside additional support amounting to approximately $49.5 million from BOAD alone. This infusion of capital reflects the government’s commitment to expanding long‑haul connectivity and strengthening Côte d’Ivoire’s aviation sector.

Operational data and schedules have been released: Flight HF 176 departs Abidjan at 14:30, arriving at Paris‑Charles de Gaulle at 23:00, while return Flight HF 177 leaves CDG at 08:00 and lands back in Abidjan at 12:30.

This launch positions Air Côte d’Ivoire on a competitive route already served by major players like Air France—offering twice-daily A350 and Boeing 777 services—and Corsair, which flies A330neos from Paris Orly. However, leveraging its strong regional network of 29 routes—22 international—Air Côte d’Ivoire aims to feed passengers into this new Paris service, strengthening Abidjan’s role as a West African hub.

The A330‑900neo delivery aligns with Côte d’Ivoire’s 65th independence anniversary, marking a milestone for both the airline and the nation’s aviation ambitions. The first aircraft completed its maiden flight in August 2025 and will officially join the fleet on August 29, 2025, followed by a second A330‑900neo later this year.

Beyond Paris, Air Côte d’Ivoire envisions further international routes, including London, Geneva, Washington, and New York, building on this inaugural long‑haul venture.

What This Means for Travelers and the Region

  • Enhanced comfort and choice – With four cabin classes, the airline caters to luxury travelers, business passengers, and budget-conscious flyers alike.
  • Improved connectivity – The seamless feeder network across West Africa allows smoother access to Europe.
  • Economic ripple effects – The expansion is expected to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, while creating jobs in aviation, logistics, and related industries.
  • Regional prestige – As Air Côte d’Ivoire transforms into a long-haul operator, it elevates Abidjan’s status as a key gateway city.

Forward Outlook

The Abidjan–Paris route is more than just a new flight path; it’s a strategic signal of Côte d’Ivoire’s growing stature in international aviation. For travelers, this means more options, better service, and easier access between West Africa and Europe. For the airline, it’s the beginning of a broader vision connecting its regional strength to global destinations.

As the first A330-900neo arrives in late August, passengers and industry watchers alike are gearing up for this new chapter. And with plans for future expansions already in sight, Air Côte d’Ivoire is poised to redefine long-haul travel for the region.
