Emirates Launches Daily Dubai–Hangzhou Route: A Gateway to China’s Cultural and Tech Capital

Emirates now flies daily from Dubai to Hangzhou, linking UAE to China’s tech and cultural hub. Luxurious service, seamless connections, and enhanced tourism awaits.

Dubai–Hangzhou Route

Emirates has introduced a new daily non-stop flight from Dubai to Hangzhou, delivering a seamless link between the UAE and one of China’s most renowned cities for both heritage and innovation. This addition marks Emirates’ fifth Chinese mainland gateway—following Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen—and underscores its expanding commitment to the China–UAE travel corridor.

The inaugural flight, EK310, touched down at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport on 30 July 2025, greeted by a traditional water-cannon welcome, local dignitaries, and airport officials. In celebration of this milestone, travelers received commemorative keychains, certificates, and Chinese tea-tasting sets—tokens that reflect both the elegance and cultural richness of the route’s launch.

Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER featuring eight First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats, the new route ensures premium comfort across all cabins. Flight EK310 departs Dubai at 09:40, arriving in Hangzhou at 22:00, while return EK311 takes off at 00:10 and lands back in Dubai at 04:55, offering ideal timing for onward connections across Emirates’ global network.

Why Hangzhou? East Meets Ancient

Nestled in Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou is celebrated as one of China’s seven ancient capitals, with over 2,000 years of cultural legacy. Its celebrated West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dazzles with lotus blossoms, willow-lined shores, and timeless pagodas. Nearby, the revered Lingyin Temple and Six Harmonies Pagoda reveal the spiritual and architectural depth of the region.

Simultaneously, Hangzhou stands at the forefront of China’s digital economy. It’s home to the Alibaba Group and is a dynamic hub for e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and big data. Emirates’ new flight not only facilitates tourism but also strengthens the flow of business, tech innovation, and trade opportunities between the two regions.

Luxury and Convenience from Sky to Ground

Passengers traveling in First and Business Class can enjoy Emirates’ signature complimentary chauffeur-drive service within an 80-kilometer radius of Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. Conducted in Mercedes-Benz E-Class vehicles, this premium feature enhances the journey’s comfort and luxury—already available in more than 70 cities worldwide.

A Broader Network for Global Travelers

With the addition of Hangzhou, Emirates now operates 49 weekly flights covering its five mainland Chinese cities. The airline maintains interline and codeshare partnerships with China Southern Airlines, Air China, and Sichuan Airlines, facilitating seamless onward travel to destinations across China.

Moreover, thanks to Emirates’ strategic Dubai hub, Hangzhou is now within reach for travelers from over 40 European, 21 African, 13 Middle Eastern, and several South American cities. Whether tourists or business professionals, passengers benefit from vibrant, multi-destination travel options.

Cargo & Trade: Enhancing Connectivity

Beyond passenger travel, the route serves as a major corridor for air cargo, with each flight offering ample bellyhold capacity—up to 16 tonnes—ideal for high-value, time-sensitive shipments. Given Hangzhou’s stature as a leading e-commerce logistics nexus, this route supports faster delivery of electronics, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods to markets across the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.

A Strengthening of UAE–China Tourism and Business Ties

The route’s launch reinforces the longstanding bilateral ties between the UAE and China. In 2024, nearly 830,000 Chinese tourists visited Dubai—approximately a 30% increase from the previous year—showcasing the region’s growing appeal and the timely opening of this route.

Emirates’ leadership sees this new connection as more than a flight—it’s a bridge linking economies, cultures, and travelers across continents. From ancient heritage sites to booming digital corridors, Dubai and Hangzhou now share a vibrant, modern travel link.

Summary

Emirates’ daily Dubai–Hangzhou flight masterfully brings together history and innovation. With world-class service, streamlined connections, and deep cultural relevance, this route offers travelers from the Gulf and beyond a gateway to the beauty of China’s past and the promise of its digital future.
