Now Air Japan Expands Singapore–Tokyo Route with Daily Flights from November 21

Air Japan launches daily flights between Singapore and Tokyo from November 21, boosting travel opportunities with affordable fares and flexibility.

Singapore–Tokyo Route

Travel between Singapore and Tokyo is about to become easier and more convenient than ever. Starting November 21, Air Japan will expand its services on the Singapore–Tokyo (Narita) route, upgrading from five flights a week to daily flights. This expansion is set to open up new opportunities for both business and leisure travelers while strengthening cultural and economic ties between Singapore and Japan.

The decision to operate daily services follows the introduction of a third aircraft into the airline’s fleet. Until now, Air Japan only offered flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. With the addition of Wednesday and Thursday flights, travelers will now have the flexibility to fly on any day of the week.

Meeting the Rising Demand for Travel

Japan continues to be one of the most popular destinations for Singaporeans. According to recent figures, more than 691,000 Singaporeans visited Japan in 2024, a 16.9% increase from the previous year. The appeal of Japan’s cultural heritage, modern attractions, and seasonal experiences continues to attract travelers in large numbers.

December saw a peak in travel demand, with 136,200 Singaporeans visiting Japan that month alone, particularly to enjoy the winter holidays. The introduction of daily flights by Air Japan is expected to help meet this surging demand, ensuring greater accessibility and smoother travel planning.

Flexible and Affordable Fares

Air Japan is not only adding more flights but also making travel more affordable with competitive fare options. The “Simple” fare category starts at SGD 226 one-way, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers. Families can also benefit from children’s fares starting at SGD 148, while infants under two years who do not occupy a seat are charged only SGD 51.

The base fare includes a 7kg carry-on baggage allowance, while optional add-ons such as checked baggage, in-flight meals, and advance seat selection are available for purchase. This customizable fare structure allows travelers to tailor their flight experience according to their preferences and budgets.

Enhanced Travel Opportunities

The introduction of daily services creates more options for different types of travelers:

  • Business professionals can now take advantage of mid-week flights, ensuring flexibility for last-minute meetings or corporate travel.
  • Leisure travelers gain more convenience in planning holidays, as they are no longer limited by fewer flight days.
  • Families can better align flights with school holidays and seasonal travel opportunities.

By offering this flexibility, Air Japan is catering to a broad spectrum of travelers, from business executives to students and tourists seeking cultural experiences.

Boost to Bilateral Relations and Tourism

The daily flights are expected to bring significant economic and tourism benefits to both nations. Stronger connectivity between Singapore and Tokyo not only supports tourism growth but also encourages greater business exchanges and student mobility.

For Japan, the expansion aligns with its continued efforts to attract international visitors and boost its tourism economy. For Singapore, it means easier access to one of Asia’s most popular destinations, further enriching its citizens’ travel opportunities.

Air Japan’s Strategic Expansion

This move is part of Air Japan’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the competitive airline market. By expanding routes and introducing flexible fares, the airline is aiming to capture a larger share of the growing Asia-Pacific travel sector.

The timing is significant. As global travel continues to rebound in the post-pandemic era, airlines are seeking to expand connectivity and respond to travelers’ evolving needs. Air Japan’s decision to provide daily flights underscores its commitment to offering quality, affordable, and accessible travel experiences.

Why Singaporeans Love Japan

Japan has long been a favorite among Singaporean travelers for several reasons:

  • Rich cultural heritage: From Kyoto’s temples to Tokyo’s historic shrines, Japan offers a blend of tradition and modernity.
  • Unique seasonal experiences: Cherry blossoms in spring, summer festivals, autumn foliage, and winter skiing continue to attract repeat visitors.
  • World-class cuisine: Japanese food remains a major draw, with travelers eager to explore everything from sushi and ramen to regional specialties.
  • Shopping and pop culture: Tokyo remains a hub for fashion, anime, and cutting-edge technology.

With Air Japan’s expanded services, Singaporeans now have even greater freedom to experience these attractions at their convenience.

Looking Ahead

The launch of daily flights is not just about convenience—it is about shaping the future of travel between two major Asian hubs. By offering more flights, affordable options, and flexible scheduling, Air Japan is making international travel more accessible.

This expansion also signals a new chapter in Singapore–Japan connectivity, one that will likely foster deeper cultural exchanges, increased tourism, and stronger economic collaboration.

As November 21 approaches, travelers can look forward to enjoying unmatched travel opportunities, whether they are heading to Tokyo for business meetings, family holidays, or once-in-a-lifetime adventures.
