Now Emirates Unveils Premium Economy on Mumbai, Amman, Muscat & Bahrain Routes

Emirates adds Premium Economy across Mumbai, Amman, Muscat & Bahrain, boosting comfort on over 635 weekly flights and 2M seats by year-end 2025.

Premium Economy

Emirates is elevating mid-tier air travel by introducing its popular Premium Economy cabin to four pivotal destinations—Mumbai, Amman, Muscat, and Bahrain. This expansion reflects the airline’s ambition to broaden access to enhanced comfort on both regional and long-haul routes, just in time for the 2025 winter travel season.

Strategic Aircraft Deployment Timeline

  • Amman: Beginning October 26, 2025, daily flights EK903/904 will operate using an Airbus A380 outfitted with the full four‑class configuration, now including Premium Economy. Every service on this route will carry the updated cabin.
  • Mumbai: Starting the same date, EK504/505 services will shift to retrofitted Boeing 777s, giving travelers access to Premium Economy on 22 weekly flights between Dubai and this bustling commercial hub.
  • Muscat: From October 30, 2025, all nine weekly flights serviced by EK862/863 (Thursdays and Saturdays) will use modern Airbus A350 aircraft featuring the new Premium Economy cabin.
  • Bahrain: Beginning December 4, 2025, an additional retrofitted Boeing 777 will serve EK833/834 every Thursday, ensuring all flights to Bahrain are operated exclusively with cabins featuring the new Premium Economy and upgraded Business Class.

A Massive Retrofit Programme Underway

This expansion forms part of what may be the aviation industry’s most ambitious retrofit initiative. Emirates is revamping its fleet—Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and newer Airbus A350s—to deliver a consistent and contemporary experience across all their aircraft.

  • Over 635 weekly flights will carry the Premium Economy cabin across the network.
  • By winter 2025–26, 68 destinations will feature aircraft with Premium Economy, with 36 routes served exclusively by such configured aircraft.
  • Emirates is scaling up from 1.8 million to more than 2 million Premium Economy seats by the end of 2025.
  • To date, 67 aircraft have been upgraded, with the full goal targeting 219 aircraft110 A380s and 109 Boeing 777s. Refits are progressing impressively at a pace of one aircraft every three weeks.

What Travelers Can Expect

Passengers opting for Premium Economy will enjoy a step‑up from standard Economy, featuring wider seats, greater legroom, enhanced recline, elevated dining service, and a quieter cabin. The experience bridges economy and business, offering smart value and comfort.

Emirates’ full‑service cabins now offer seamless consistency for travelers connecting globally, especially via Dubai hub, ensuring a uniform onboard experience.

What This Means for Tourism and Travel

  • Greater Travel Appeal: The addition of Premium Economy on routes like Mumbai, Amman, Muscat, and Bahrain caters to business travelers mindful of cost but unwilling to compromise on comfort. Similarly, it appeals to leisure flyers seeking a better in-flight experience at a reasonable price.
  • Strengthened Route Value: By upgrading flights on these high-demand corridors, Emirates reasserts its competitive edge in the Middle East–South Asia travel market.
  • Consistent Brand Experience: With fleet-wide standardization, brand integrity is enhanced—everyone enjoys the same high-quality cabins regardless of segment.
  • Scalable Growth: This initiative positions Emirates well for future demand surges—especially important as global travel continues to rebound post-pandemic.

In summary, Emirates’ Premium Economy expansion across Mumbai, Amman, Muscat, and Bahrain marks a significant advancement in mid-tier air travel. With stylish new seating and consistent service standards deployed across hundreds of flights weekly, the airline is reinforcing its leadership in premium travel while meeting growing customer expectations.
