Las Vegas Icon Reimagined: The Venetian Debuts Luxe Upgrades in $1.5 Billion Resort Overhaul, all you need to know

The Venetian Las Vegas reinvents itself with luxury penthouse suites, over 40 dining venues, and elite entertainment, redefining Strip hospitality in a $1.5B overhaul.

The legendary Venetian Resort Las Vegas is redefining luxury on the Strip with a sweeping $1.5 billion transformation that breathes new life into previously unused spaces. Spearheaded by new owners Apollo Global Management and VICI Properties, this bold redevelopment turns dormant square footage into premium penthouse suites, a world-class dining collection, and immersive entertainment venues, securing the resort’s position as a top-tier destination in the heart of Las Vegas.

From high-end stays to global flavors and intimate cabaret shows, The Venetian is no longer just a hotel—it’s a complete lifestyle hub curated for today’s experiential traveler.

Hidden Space Now Transformed Into High-End Penthouse Suites

After sitting vacant since the resort’s grand opening in 1999, the top floors of the South Tower have finally been activated. The transformation introduced 78 ultra-luxury penthouse suites, perfectly tailored for group travelers and celebratory occasions such as bachelor parties, birthdays, and executive retreats.

With this addition, the Venetian now boasts 7,167 rooms, reaffirming its status as one of the largest resorts in Las Vegas. Each suite is outfitted with panoramic views, upscale finishes, contemporary interiors, and modern tech amenities, offering a seamless blend of elegance and comfort.

The rejuvenation extends beyond new builds. By the end of 2024, 1,000 existing suites in the South Tower had been fully renovated, and 3,000 more in the North Tower are undergoing redesigns expected to be completed by late 2025. These upgrades retain the property’s classic Venetian charm—arched ceilings, crown moldings, and marble textures—while introducing sleek, modern touches.

Culinary Renaissance: Over 40 Dining Options and a Star-Filled Food Hall

The Venetian has rapidly evolved into a premier culinary destination with more than 40 restaurants and cafés. Leading this transformation is CEO Patrick Nichols, who envisioned turning the once “gray space” of the South Tower into experiential, guest-first concepts.

The newest jewel in the culinary crown is the Via Via food hall, a bustling gathering space offering quick-service favorites from iconic eateries. Guests can sample cult-classic Scarr’s Pizza and Ivan Ramen from New York, Southern-inspired breakfast at Molly’s Rise and Shine (New Orleans), and street-style flavors from B.S. Taqueria (Los Angeles).

For fine dining lovers, notable additions include Gjelina, the acclaimed Venice Beach eatery, and HaSalon, a Mediterranean hotspot from Israeli celebrity chef Eyal Shani. This combination of high-end cuisine and casual, global bites positions the Venetian as one of the most versatile food destinations in Las Vegas.

New Entertainment Era: The Voltaire Theater Brings Intimacy and Iconic Performances

A major highlight of the transformation is the addition of Voltaire Theater, an 1,000-seat cabaret-style venue that introduces a new level of intimate entertainment to the Strip. With luxurious art deco interiors, the space offers a departure from traditional mega-arenas.

Voltaire is set to host exclusive residencies from international stars like Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera, giving fans a chance to experience their favorite artists up close in a glamorous and cozy environment.

Nichols captured the intent behind the new experience: “We’re in a battle for guest time. People come to Vegas for 2–3 days. We want to give them every reason to stay within The Venetian.”

Modern Convention Spaces and Reimagined Gaming

Beyond leisure, the resort’s convention and business offerings received substantial upgrades. The Venetian Convention Center now boasts advanced digital presentation systems, smart lighting, and hybrid work-friendly meeting spaces, catering to the growing demand for modern, flexible business travel infrastructure.

The casino floor also underwent refinements, including the addition of the Yahoo Sportsbook, which merges the thrill of live betting with sleek, interactive technology. These enhancements reflect the Venetian’s ambition to cater to diverse guests—from digital nomads and corporate travelers to high rollers and leisure tourists.

Why the Space Remained Untouched—And How That Changed

For nearly 25 years, the top floors of the Venetian South Tower remained unfinished, viewed as “gray space” with concrete floors and stud walls. Previous ownership reportedly hesitated due to decision paralysis, unsure how to best utilize the real estate. Under Nichols’ leadership, the resort embraced a clear strategy—maximizing underutilized assets in alignment with guest desires.

“We didn’t just fill the space,” Nichols said. “We curated experiences that matter—luxury living, diverse food options, and unforgettable shows—all within one address.”

Reinventing Las Vegas Hospitality

This bold transformation reflects Las Vegas Sands’ long-term vision for reinvestment and elevating guest experiences. While the brand once focused heavily on gaming, this relaunch centers on well-rounded tourism—integrating fine accommodations, upscale dining, vibrant nightlife, and executive amenities under one luxurious umbrella.

With tourism in Las Vegas surpassing 40 million visitors annually and major hotel groups racing to capture market share, The Venetian’s reinvention is both strategic and timely.

A Destination Reborn: The Venetian 2.0

The Venetian’s $1.5 billion transformation is more than a renovation—it’s a reimagining of what hospitality means in Las Vegas. From curated luxury suites and celebrity-chef restaurants to boutique entertainment venues, the resort is leading a new era on the Strip.

As Las Vegas evolves from a gambling mecca to a multifaceted global destination, The Venetian stands at the forefront—offering travelers not just a place to stay, but a place to experience everything without ever needing to leave the property.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning guest, this newly revitalized Venetian Resort promises a stay filled with surprise, comfort, and modern indulgence.
