Wyndham Hotels Launches First Global Brand Cave Hotel in Cappadocia, Türkiye

Wyndham opens Signature Cave Cappadocia, Türkiye’s first global cave hotel in Mustafapaşa, blending ancient architecture with luxury in UNESCO-listed Cappadocia.

Mustafapaşa, Türkiye – July 2025 – A captivating fusion of ancient heritage and contemporary luxury has arrived in one of Türkiye’s most storied landscapes. The newly opened Signature Cave Cappadocia, Trademark Collection® by Wyndham in Mustafapaşa marks a historic milestone as the first cave hotel by a global hospitality brand in Türkiye. The 27-suite boutique hotel invites travelers to experience the cultural and geological wonders of the UNESCO-listed Cappadocia region—while enjoying the consistent service and elevated comfort of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

The debut of Signature Cave Cappadocia is part of Wyndham’s growing strategy to expand its experience-led hospitality in distinctive, culturally rich destinations. With a portfolio of approximately 9,300 hotels across 95+ countries, Wyndham continues to prioritize authenticity and guest experience over conventional design.

Immersive Stays in Carved Stone Suites

Each of the hotel’s 27 unique suites is carved directly into Cappadocia’s signature soft volcanic rock, maintaining the region’s ancient architectural integrity. Rooms feature handcrafted Turkish textiles, antique rugs, stone archways, and bespoke furnishings made by local artisans. Select suites include private thermal pools, spa-style hot tubs, or traditional fireplaces, offering a seamless marriage between rustic charm and modern indulgence.

Guests can stay connected with complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and flat-screen HDTVs, ensuring modern convenience does not disrupt the cave hotel’s serene and atmospheric ambiance.

Culinary Excellence in a Cave Setting

Signature Cave Cappadocia’s food and beverage program is a celebration of the Ürgüp region’s rich culinary traditions. At the 68-seat on-site restaurant and open-air terrace bar, guests can indulge in local dishes like Sineson Tava, a sizzling meat specialty, and St. Theodoros Köfte, a heritage recipe exclusive to the Mustafapaşa village.

The rooftop terrace bar offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and fairy chimneys, perfect for catching Cappadocia’s iconic hot air balloons at sunrise. A dedicated breakfast room serves fresh local ingredients daily, enhancing the immersive Turkish hospitality experience.

Cappadocia: A UNESCO World Heritage Jewel

Home to rock-carved churches, underground cities, and otherworldly landscapes, Cappadocia has long captured the imagination of international travelers. The region welcomed over 4 million visitors in 2024, including more than 1 million overnight stays, according to Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, Cappadocia is especially famous for its “fairy chimney” formations and underground cities like Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı. The town of Mustafapaşa, where Signature Cave Cappadocia is located, was historically known as Sinasos and boasts Greek-Ottoman architectural influences, stone mansions, and lesser-known hiking trails—offering a quieter, more authentic experience compared to Göreme or Ürgüp.

Local Ownership Meets Global Reach

Signature Cave Cappadocia is owned and operated by Honest Holding, which previously partnered with Wyndham to open Ramada Resort by Wyndham Pamukkale Thermal in one of Türkiye’s other iconic tourism hubs. This marks the second Wyndham-branded venture by the group.

“This is more than a hotel—it’s a living story carved in stone,” said Dimitris Manikis, President EMEA, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Cappadocia is a destination that inspires. Through Signature Cave Cappadocia, we are offering travelers a one-of-a-kind stay that merges tradition with world-class hospitality.”

Cengiz Deveci, President of Honest Holding, added: “By joining forces with Wyndham, we’re able to showcase Cappadocia’s rich cultural legacy to a global audience, while maintaining the soul of the region through our design and service ethos.”

Wyndham’s Growing Footprint in Türkiye

Türkiye remains a key growth market for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, with nearly 125 hotels currently open and 30 more in the development pipeline. The country’s robust domestic and international travel demand, coupled with rich historical and natural assets, makes it an ideal destination for Wyndham’s expansion of boutique and lifestyle-focused properties.

The Trademark Collection by Wyndham allows independent hotel owners to maintain their unique identity while benefiting from Wyndham’s global distribution network, technology systems, and loyalty program. This model is especially fitting for destinations like Cappadocia, where authenticity and local character define the guest experience.
