Japan–South Korea Travel Payments Could Change With Yen Stablecoin Tests
Shinhan Card and SBI are exploring yen-linked digital tokens for payments between Japan and South Korea, including potential visitor purchases. Their cooperation agreement, signed in Tokyo on 20 October 2026, proposes tests involving cards, digital wallets and international settlement.
