Vivanta by IHCL to Launch New Luxury Beach Resort in Anjuna, Goa, Expanding Coastal Hospitality in India

Vivanta by IHCL announces a luxury hotel in Anjuna, Goa—offering 110 rooms, signature dining, and wellness spaces, reinforcing Goa’s global tourism appeal.

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), South Asia’s largest hospitality group, has announced the signing of a new luxury hotel under its Vivanta brand in the vibrant coastal town of Anjuna, North Goa. This significant greenfield development marks another milestone in India’s premium tourism sector, further solidifying Goa’s reputation as a top-tier international and domestic travel destination.

Set along the famous Anjuna coastline—known for its eclectic blend of bohemian beach culture, legendary music festivals, and artisanal markets—the new Vivanta Anjuna promises a seamless integration of laid-back beachside charm with contemporary luxury. The project is being developed in partnership with Fiesta Hotels Pvt. Ltd., marking the second collaboration between the two entities in Goa’s flourishing hospitality landscape.

Located in North Goa, Anjuna has long been a magnet for both Indian travelers and global tourists. Its scenic beaches, Portuguese-era churches, lively nightlife, and close proximity to the popular flea market have made it one of the most iconic and evolving beach destinations in India. IHCL’s new offering seeks to enhance the quality of accommodations in the area by catering to today’s experience-driven, design-conscious traveler.

According to Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, “IHCL has been at the forefront of pioneering new travel destinations for decades. Goa, in particular, has been central to our growth and identity. With the signing of Vivanta Anjuna, we reaffirm our commitment to elevating the luxury hospitality offering in this unique and culturally rich part of India.”

The hotel will offer 110 thoughtfully designed guest rooms, each reflecting Vivanta’s hallmark style of contemporary aesthetics infused with local flavor. Guests can expect a lively all-day restaurant serving regional and global fare, a sophisticated lounge bar ideal for sundowners and social gatherings, a fully equipped fitness center, a large swimming pool, and multi-functional meeting spaces suitable for both corporate and social events.

More than just a hotel, the new Vivanta in Anjuna aims to be a social and cultural hub, blending comfort, elegance, and authenticity. Designed with Goa’s laid-back sensibility and creative energy in mind, the property is expected to draw a diverse crowd—from urban professionals and remote workers seeking coastal retreats to international tourists in search of premium beachside stays.

Vivanta hotels are celebrated for their immersive guest experiences, spirited service, and vibrant ambiance. The Anjuna property is expected to follow this legacy while setting new benchmarks in Goa’s luxury hotel market. The development aligns with the larger vision of IHCL to expand across India’s high-demand leisure destinations with a diversified brand portfolio.

Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Director of Fiesta Hotels Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the strategic importance of the project: “We are proud to deepen our collaboration with IHCL. This new hotel is a testament to our shared goal of creating iconic travel experiences in Goa—where heritage, modernity, and natural beauty come together effortlessly.”

Anjuna has witnessed a significant transformation in recent years, evolving from a backpacker hotspot to a cosmopolitan beach enclave. With infrastructure improvements, better connectivity through Goa International Airport (GOI) and Manohar International Airport (GOX), and sustained government efforts to promote sustainable tourism, the region is poised for further growth.

According to Goa Tourism Department data, the state received over 8 million visitors in 2024, with North Goa continuing to command the majority share due to its accessibility, nightlife, and boutique accommodations. Vivanta’s entrance into this competitive market reflects confidence in Goa’s upward trajectory and reaffirms the area’s status as a high-potential destination for premium leisure investment.

The new hotel also supports Goa’s Sustainable Tourism Policy, which encourages balanced development while preserving natural and cultural assets. Vivanta Anjuna will incorporate environment-friendly building practices and design elements that minimize its ecological footprint.

With this addition, IHCL will operate 18 properties across Goa, including iconic brands like Taj, SeleQtions, Ginger, and now an expanded Vivanta portfolio. Five more properties are under development, ensuring the group remains a key player in shaping Goa’s tourism narrative.

From yoga retreats and digital nomad stays to destination weddings and beach holidays, the new Vivanta Anjuna is set to cater to a broad spectrum of discerning travelers. It will provide not just accommodation but an elevated lifestyle experience that mirrors Goa’s evolving identity as a global beach destination where luxury and freedom converge.

As tourism in Goa continues its post-pandemic resurgence, fueled by longer stays and a preference for immersive travel, this project comes at a time when demand for branded upscale accommodations is at an all-time high. For IHCL, the Vivanta Anjuna represents not just growth in numbers but a statement of intent—to lead from the front in reimagining coastal luxury in India.
