Hyatt Hotels Corporation plans to open Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin in early 2027, transforming the established Hotel Palace Berlin into a Hyatt Regency property and strengthening the group’s presence in the German capital.
Hyatt has entered into a franchise agreement for the property, which will undergo a phased renovation before joining both the Hyatt Regency brand and the World of Hyatt loyalty programme. The project will introduce updated guestrooms, modernised public areas and refreshed social spaces while retaining the hotel’s established position in Berlin’s City West district.
The future hotel will feature 239 guestrooms and 39 suites, providing 278 accommodation units for business travellers, international tourists, families and event guests.
City West location strengthens visitor appeal
Location will be one of Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin’s strongest tourism advantages.
The property stands opposite Berlin Zoo and within walking distance of Kurfürstendamm, the Europa-Center and major transport connections. This gives guests immediate access to one of Berlin’s best-known shopping, commercial and tourism districts.
City West combines retail, cultural attractions, business activity, restaurants and entertainment, making it particularly suitable for a full-service international hotel.
Leisure travellers can use the property as a base for sightseeing and shopping, while corporate visitors gain convenient access to business districts and transportation.
The location also gives Hyatt another strategically positioned hotel in a city that attracts substantial demand from leisure, business and events travellers.
278 rooms and suites target modern travellers
Following the transition, Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin will include 239 guestrooms and 39 suites.
The planned renovation will focus on both guestrooms and public areas. Hyatt says the redesign will introduce welcoming social environments alongside calm, intuitive accommodation intended to help guests work, relax and connect.
This approach reflects changing expectations among modern hotel guests.
Business travellers increasingly require comfortable workspaces and convenient shared areas, while leisure visitors value hotels that provide places to dine, relax and socialise without leaving the property.
The existing exclusive club lounge is also expected to be transformed into a Regency Club, strengthening the premium accommodation experience.
Dining, spa and pool broaden the hotel experience
Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin will offer more than accommodation.
The property includes the beef45 restaurant, two bars, a spa and swimming pool, creating a comprehensive hospitality experience for visitors staying in Berlin.
These facilities can strengthen the hotel’s appeal among leisure travellers and guests extending business trips with additional relaxation time.
Wellness amenities are particularly valuable in the premium urban hotel segment, where visitors increasingly expect fitness, relaxation and dining options within the same property.
Restaurants and bars can also attract Berlin residents and business visitors who are not staying overnight, allowing the hotel to participate more broadly in City West’s hospitality and social economy.
Major event facilities target Berlin business tourism
Meetings and events will represent another major part of the property’s positioning.
Hyatt confirms that the hotel has approximately 2,600 square metres, or 28,000 square feet, of event space across 18 venues. Together, the facilities can accommodate up to 900 guests for meetings, celebrations and other social gatherings.
This capacity gives Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin significant potential within Berlin’s conference, corporate and events market.
Large hotels that combine accommodation with meeting facilities can provide organisers with more efficient event logistics. Delegates can stay, dine and attend meetings within the same location, while organisers gain access to multiple flexible spaces.
The facilities can also support weddings, private celebrations and international gatherings.
Hyatt strengthens its Berlin hotel portfolio
The property will complement Hyatt’s existing presence in Berlin.
Hyatt currently identifies Grand Hyatt Berlin, Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side and Lindner Hotel Berlin Ku’damm, part of JdV by Hyatt, alongside five Mr & Mrs Smith hotels in its Berlin portfolio.
The new hotel will add the Hyatt Regency brand to that mix and give World of Hyatt members another option in the German capital.
Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin is also expected to become the fourth Hyatt Regency hotel in Germany, joining properties in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Mainz.
As of the second quarter of 2026, Hyatt reported 25 hotels representing more than 5,000 rooms across eight brands in Germany.
Berlin prepares for another major international hotel
The transformation of Hotel Palace Berlin demonstrates how established urban properties can combine their local identity with the distribution, loyalty and service infrastructure of an international hospitality group.
For Berlin tourism, the project adds another globally recognised full-service hotel with substantial accommodation, wellness, dining and event capacity.
When Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin is expected to open in early 2027, its City West location, 278 rooms and suites and extensive meeting facilities will position it to serve leisure visitors, corporate travellers and large event groups while further strengthening Berlin’s international hospitality landscape.
