Riyadh Air is preparing to celebrate a major loyalty milestone as its Sfeer lifestyle membership programme approaches one million members, highlighting growing international engagement with Saudi Arabia’s emerging national airline.
The Public Investment Fund-backed carrier is marking the occasion with substantial rewards. The one millionth Sfeer member will receive one million Sfeer Points and become the programme’s final Founding Member.
Two existing Founding Members will also be selected through a random draw. Each will receive 250,000 Sfeer Points, bringing the additional reward pool for early members to 500,000 points.
The milestone demonstrates how Riyadh Air is building passenger relationships alongside the rapid expansion of its international network. Sfeer has been positioned as a broader lifestyle ecosystem rather than a conventional frequent-flyer programme focused solely on flights.
One million points create major travel possibilities
The headline reward could deliver considerable future travel value.
According to Riyadh Air, one million Sfeer Points could potentially cover more than 120 one-way Economy flights across its growing network, depending on destinations, seat availability and applicable redemption conditions.
The points could alternatively support family holidays, group journeys or premium travel experiences.
That flexibility reflects Sfeer’s wider strategy of connecting airline rewards with different types of passenger behaviour rather than limiting benefits to frequent business travellers.
As Riyadh Air adds destinations, the value of that ecosystem could increase further by giving members more opportunities to earn and redeem rewards across international journeys.
Sfeer goes beyond traditional airline loyalty
Sfeer has been developed around travel, lifestyle experiences, entertainment and partnerships.
Its name reflects two complementary ideas. In Arabic, it draws inspiration from the concept of an ambassador, representing hospitality, generosity and connection. It also echoes the English word “sphere,” reinforcing the programme’s ambition to create a global community.
Current member benefits include access to Riyadh Air’s Best Offer Guarantee when booking directly, complimentary onboard Wi-Fi and Sfeer Points that do not expire under existing programme conditions.
Founding Members receive additional recognition, including early access opportunities and programme privileges linked to their role in Sfeer’s initial growth.
This approach allows Riyadh Air to establish customer engagement before travellers even consider individual flights.
Hilton, Uber and muvi expand lifestyle reach
Sfeer’s growth has been supported by partnerships extending beyond aviation.
Riyadh Air has developed relationships involving Hilton, Uber and Saudi Arabia’s muvi Cinemas, connecting the membership programme with hospitality, mobility and entertainment.
The muvi partnership, for example, has already offered Sfeer members access to cinema-related experiences, while cooperation with Uber has supported mobility benefits.
These partnerships demonstrate how airlines increasingly view loyalty as part of the entire travel journey.
For tourists, the relationship with an airline can now begin before arriving at an airport and continue through ground transport, hotels, entertainment and destination experiences.
Riyadh Air network expansion strengthens Sfeer
The membership milestone comes as Riyadh Air accelerates its network development.
The airline recently placed additional Asian destinations on sale, including Islamabad, Lahore, Manila and Bangkok.
Flights between Riyadh and Islamabad begin on August 14, followed by Lahore on August 18. Bangkok services are scheduled from September 2, while daily Manila flights start September 9.
These additions expand Sfeer’s relevance across important tourism, business and visiting-friends-and-relatives markets.
Riyadh Air ultimately plans to connect Saudi Arabia with more than 100 destinations by 2030, creating a much larger international platform for its loyalty community.
New interactive features planned for members
Sfeer is also preparing additional functionality as membership expands.
Future features are expected to allow members to share Sfeer Points with friends and family, strengthening the programme’s community-based approach.
New challenges and interactive experiences are also planned, while Level Points will recognise member progression and unlock additional benefits and experiences.
Such features could make Sfeer particularly attractive to families and groups who want greater flexibility when combining travel rewards.
Loyalty growth supports Saudi tourism ambitions
Sfeer’s approach toward one million members carries broader importance for Saudi Arabia’s tourism strategy.
Riyadh Air is being developed as a central component of the Kingdom’s expanding aviation ecosystem, supporting international connectivity and positioning Riyadh as a major global travel hub.
A large membership base gives the airline a ready community of potential travellers as new routes launch.
It can also strengthen connections between international passengers and Saudi hospitality, entertainment and tourism businesses.
For Riyadh Air, reaching one million Sfeer members represents more than a loyalty milestone.
It signals growing global interest in the carrier’s wider travel ecosystem and provides a foundation for building long-term passenger relationships as Saudi Arabia expands its influence across international aviation and tourism.
