Hilton Unveils New Parramatta Hotel as Western Sydney Tourism Growth Accelerates

Hilton will expand into one of Western Sydney’s fastest-growing urban centres with the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta, a 100-room hotel scheduled for the final quarter of 2028.

The property will form part of Deicorp Group’s Cosmopolitan mixed-use development on the park-side boundary of Parramatta’s central business district. The wider project will combine the hotel with 597 apartments, retail outlets, commercial facilities and dining venues.

Its arrival comes as Parramatta strengthens its role as Sydney’s second central business district. Population growth, major infrastructure projects and improved public transport are increasing the city’s appeal to corporate travellers, event delegates and leisure visitors.

Future operations at Western Sydney International Airport are also expected to generate wider demand for accommodation across the region. The new hotel could help Parramatta capture a larger share of travellers moving through Western Sydney rather than relying exclusively on central Sydney.

New hotel strengthens Parramatta accommodation

DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta will feature 100 guest rooms ranging from 20 to 45 square metres. The varied room sizes are expected to serve individual business guests, couples and travellers seeking additional space.

An all-day dining venue and lounge will support hotel guests while also creating another hospitality destination within the Cosmopolitan precinct.

The property will include 667 square metres of flexible event space. Planned facilities include meeting rooms, a boardroom and pre-function areas suitable for business gatherings and smaller organised events.

Dedicated fitness and wellness amenities will complete the guest offering. These services reflect growing expectations among corporate and leisure travellers for hotels that combine accommodation, dining, meetings and personal wellbeing.

Hilton’s decision to place the DoubleTree brand in Parramatta signals confidence in the area’s long-term visitor economy. It also increases the supply of internationally branded accommodation outside Sydney’s traditional central tourism districts.

Transport connections provide strategic advantage

Connectivity will be one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. A Parramatta Light Rail stop will sit directly beside the mixed-use development, offering convenient access across the surrounding area.

Parramatta Railway Station and Parramatta Wharf will also be located nearby. The planned Sydney Metro connection is expected to strengthen access further as Western Sydney’s transport network continues to expand.

Guests will be positioned close to Parramatta Square, a major commercial and civic precinct. The Westmead Health Precinct and Western Sydney University will also remain readily accessible.

These destinations create a diverse demand base. Potential guests include corporate travellers, medical professionals, university visitors, conference delegates and families attending events or appointments.

Improved connections may also help leisure visitors use Parramatta as a base for exploring Western Sydney. Local dining, cultural activities, riverside attractions and major sporting or entertainment events could contribute to longer stays.

Cosmopolitan creates a new urban precinct

Turner Studio designed the Cosmopolitan project as a vibrant urban village within Parramatta’s expanding CBD.

The 597 apartments will be distributed across two 46-storey towers. A three-level podium will bring together retail, commercial and dining spaces alongside the hotel, creating an integrated place for residents, visitors and workers.

Construction is already progressing. The combination of residential density and visitor accommodation could generate consistent activity throughout the precinct rather than limiting demand to standard office hours.

“Parramatta has become one of Australia’s most important economic and residential growth regions,” Deicorp Group founder and chairman Fouad Deiri said.

He described DoubleTree by Hilton as a natural fit for a location supported by substantial corporate and leisure demand. The hotel also represents the third development collaboration between Deicorp and Trilogy Hotels.

Trilogy Hotels takes operating role

Trilogy Hotels will manage the property through a hotel management agreement with Deicorp, while Hilton will serve as the franchise partner.

Trilogy Hotels CEO Scott Boyes said the development brings together Deicorp’s vision, Hilton’s brand and distribution capabilities, and Trilogy’s regional operating model.

The partnership structure gives the project a combination of local expertise and international reach. Hilton’s reservation and loyalty systems could attract travellers already familiar with the DoubleTree brand, while Trilogy will focus on operations within the Western Sydney market.

Hilton Vice President of Development for Australasia and Pacific, Tushar Raniga, said the signing reflects the company’s strategy of expanding into high-demand urban markets offering long-term potential.

He highlighted Parramatta’s infrastructure investment, transport connections and diverse demand base as important factors behind the agreement.

Western Sydney prepares for visitor expansion

The hotel arrives during a major transformation of Western Sydney’s visitor infrastructure. Population growth and large commercial developments are changing travel patterns across the metropolitan region.

Western Sydney International Airport is expected to strengthen domestic and international connectivity after opening. That expansion could stimulate demand for hotels serving corporate travel, aviation-linked activity, meetings and leisure tourism.

DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta will not open until late 2028, but its development signals how hospitality companies are preparing for that growth wave.

For Parramatta, the project adds rooms, event capacity and dining facilities within a well-connected precinct. For Western Sydney, it reinforces the region’s evolution from a primarily residential and commercial corridor into a more prominent visitor destination.

As infrastructure and urban development advance together, the hotel could become an important accommodation anchor for Parramatta’s next stage of tourism and business growth.
