Grand Hyatt The Red Sea has opened on Saudi Arabia’s Shura Island, adding 430 rooms, suites and villas to the coastal destination. The resort combines holiday accommodation with extensive wellness facilities and major spaces for conferences, weddings and incentive travel.
The opening makes it the second Hyatt-branded property at The Red Sea destination and the eighth in Saudi Arabia. It follows the arrival of Miraval The Red Sea earlier in the year.
Five pools, a substantial spa and the island’s largest ballroom anchor the offering. Nine dining concepts are planned, although seven will open later.
Coral-Inspired Architecture Defines The Setting
The resort follows Shura Island’s Coral Bloom master plan, developed by Foster + Partners.
Its architecture draws on the colours and organic shapes of local coral reefs, connecting the buildings visually with their coastal surroundings.
Outdoor canopies provide shade and sheltered gathering spaces. Made using recycled fishing nets, they echo reef formations and changing light across water.
The design gives the property a distinctive identity within Saudi Arabia’s expanding luxury accommodation market.
However, these individual material choices should not be treated as a complete measure of the resort’s environmental performance.
For guests, their immediate role is both practical and visual, shaping shaded outdoor spaces throughout the stay.
Rooms And Villas Reflect The Coastal Landscape
Muza Lab designed the interiors around The Reef Flower Garden theme, using soft colours, layered textures and flowing forms.
Accommodation includes rooms, suites and villas, with private balconies or terraces overlooking the sea, lagoon or gardens.
Premium bedding, spa-inspired bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, smart technology and curated minibars form part of the guest offering.
Selected villas and other accommodation categories include private pools, giving travellers additional choices when comparing privacy, space and facilities.
The range supports different holiday preferences, from couples seeking a coastal retreat to families arranging a larger stay.
Guests should confirm their chosen category’s specific features before booking, particularly where private pools or particular views influence their decision.
Dining Programme Will Open In Stages
Food and beverage experiences form a major part of the resort’s plans, with nine restaurants and bars envisaged.
Embers is already welcoming guests with meats and fresh seafood prepared over an open flame.
Drift Pool Bar adds drinks and lighter dishes in a setting overlooking the Red Sea.
Seven further concepts are scheduled for a later stage, including The Amalfi Club, Café Maude, Havana Social and Charcoal Tandoor Fire Grill.
The remaining line-up includes El Ta’koy by chef Luis Pous, Akira Back Korean BBQ and Janice Wong’s 2am: dessert bar.
Travellers should check opening arrangements before planning a stay around a particular restaurant. The full advertised dining programme is not available immediately.
Five Pools Expand Leisure And Wellness Choice
The resort’s five pools provide indoor and outdoor options for swimming and relaxation.
Outdoor facilities comprise the Drift Pool, Amalfi Pool and Main Pool. An Indoor Lap Pool and Spa Vitality Pool complete the selection.
The 750-square-metre Ethereal Spa features VOYA and includes 12 treatment rooms, with ten indoors and two outdoors.
A separate 500-square-metre fitness centre supports guests wishing to exercise during their visit.
Family-friendly activities sit alongside adults-only spaces, allowing different visitor groups to find suitable areas within the same resort.
Together, these facilities give guests options beyond their accommodation and broaden the property’s appeal for both active and slower-paced holidays.
Island’s Largest Ballroom Targets Group Travel
Grand Hyatt The Red Sea also brings substantial event capacity to Shura Island.
Facilities include five meeting rooms, a Junior Ballroom and a Grand Ballroom described as the island’s largest.
These spaces are intended for conferences, incentive programmes, weddings and other large gatherings.
Their inclusion extends the resort’s potential audience beyond individual holidaymakers to corporate organisers and celebration groups.
However, event planners should confirm capacities, layouts and supporting services against the requirements of each gathering.
The combination of accommodation and meeting facilities creates opportunities to organise multi-day programmes within one property.
Opening Offer Adds A Loyalty Incentive
Eligible World of Hyatt members can earn double points through the New Hotel Member Bonus Offer rate.
The promotion applies to each full US dollar, or equivalent, spent on room rates and qualifying incidental charges, subject to conditions.
Travellers should review eligibility and booking terms before relying on the offer.
The opening broadens Shura Island’s accommodation, wellness and event choices. Its phased dining rollout will add further experiences as additional venues begin welcoming guests.
