Bahrain Fort, Bahrain National Museum, Al Fateh Grand Mosque and other major attractions are set to become more accessible to British travellers as AirAsia X prepares to launch flights between Bahrain International Airport and London Gatwick.
The service is scheduled to begin on 27 August 2026 with four weekly flights before increasing to daily operations from 2 November 2026. AirAsia X will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft on the route, creating a new low-cost long-haul connection linking the United Kingdom, Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur.
The operation forms part of a wider Kuala Lumpur–Bahrain–London Gatwick service and gives AirAsia X traffic rights to carry passengers directly between Bahrain and the United Kingdom. It also establishes Bahrain as the airline’s first strategic overseas hub supporting services toward Europe.
