Winter 2026 Flights

easyJet Adds 22 Winter Routes as UK Airports Gain New Flights Across Europe and North Africa

easyJet is accelerating its Winter 2026 expansion with 22 newly announced routes from airports across the United Kingdom, strengthening direct travel to destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Arctic.

The airline’s latest release adds 13 routes from eight UK airports, following nine services announced earlier in the spring. Together, the additions improve regional access to Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Egypt, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Morocco.

The expansion increases options for winter sun holidays, city breaks, skiing trips and northern adventure travel while reducing the need for passengers outside London to connect through larger airports.

Newcastle receives the largest share of growth, while London Luton, London Southend, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Southampton, Belfast International, Newquay and other regional airports gain additional services.

Newcastle Becomes a Major Regional Growth Base

Newcastle Airport is emerging as one of the central beneficiaries of easyJet’s network strategy. The carrier is adding flights to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hurghada and Rovaniemi in its latest announcement.

These follow previously revealed winter routes from Newcastle to Fuerteventura, Krakow and Reykjavik. The combined expansion gives northern England direct access to Mediterranean cities, Red Sea resorts, European capitals and Nordic winter destinations.

Barcelona flights begin on October 25, followed by Hurghada on October 27, Copenhagen on November 5, Berlin on November 20 and Rovaniemi on November 25. Each service will operate twice weekly.

easyJet says its Newcastle network has quadrupled since the airline opened its base there in March 2026. The airport will offer 31 easyJet routes, supporting outbound tourism while creating additional opportunities for inbound visitors to northeast England.

Liverpool and London Gain New Winter Connections

Liverpool will receive two new Nordic services, with twice-weekly flights to Reykjavik beginning on November 2 and Kittilä launching on November 25.

The Iceland route supports city breaks, geothermal tourism and Northern Lights travel, while Kittilä provides access to Finnish Lapland, ski resorts and seasonal winter attractions.

London Luton will also gain Kittilä flights from November 24, alongside a new four-times-weekly Strasbourg service beginning on November 29. Strasbourg expands access to eastern France and its Christmas market tourism season.

Meanwhile, London Southend will add Edinburgh flights from October 25, operating on Thursdays and Sundays. The domestic service gives passengers in Essex and eastern London another direct option for reaching Scotland’s capital.

Southend will also launch Budapest flights on October 26 under easyJet’s earlier Winter 2026 route release, strengthening the airport’s international city-break offering.

Birmingham and Manchester Expand Leisure Access

Birmingham Airport will gain two new routes targeting different winter travel markets.

Flights to Agadir begin on October 27, opening direct access to Morocco’s Atlantic coast, resorts and year-round sunshine. A Copenhagen service follows on November 16, creating a twice-weekly link suited to weekend breaks and festive travel.

Manchester will receive a new connection to Sphinx International Airport near Cairo from November 9. easyJet will be the only airline offering a direct Manchester service to the airport, which provides convenient access to the Pyramids of Giza and western Cairo.

The route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. Its timing supports short leisure trips and longer Egypt itineraries while giving regional travelers an alternative to departing through London.

These additions can generate demand for hotels, attractions, guides and package holidays in both established and developing tourism markets.

Belfast, Southampton and Newquay Gain More Choice

Belfast International will add flights to Rome and Sharm El Sheikh, strengthening both city-break and winter sun travel. The routes launch on October 26 and October 25 respectively, with each operating twice per week.

Southampton will gain a twice-weekly service to Paris Charles de Gaulle from October 25. The route improves access to the French capital while also supporting inbound tourism to southern England.

Cornwall Airport Newquay will receive its first easyJet international route when weekly flights to Geneva begin on January 16, 2027.

The seasonal service will run until February 27 and become the only direct link between Newquay and Switzerland. It is designed to serve ski traffic while improving Cornwall’s access to continental Europe during winter.

Direct Regional Flights Support Tourism Economies

The enlarged schedule reflects growing demand for flights from local airports rather than journeys requiring connections through London.

Direct regional services can shorten travel times, improve holiday convenience and encourage more frequent short breaks. They also spread aviation and tourism activity across a wider group of UK cities.

At the destination level, new routes can support hotel occupancy, restaurants, visitor attractions, ground transport and tour operators. Winter services are particularly valuable because they can extend tourism activity beyond traditional summer peaks.

easyJet carried 100 million passengers in 2025 and operates more than 1,200 routes to over 160 airports across 35 countries. Its growing UK network shows how regional connectivity, leisure demand and package holidays are increasingly shaping Europe’s short-haul market.

The Winter 2026 expansion positions Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, London and other airports as stronger gateways to Europe and North Africa, giving travelers a wider mix of city, beach, ski and adventure destinations.
