Qatar, UAE, Philippines and Kazakhstan Air Connectivity Surges as Doha and Dubai Routes Return

Doha and Dubai are gaining fresh aviation momentum as airlines rebuild capacity across the Gulf and strengthen links with Asia and Central Asia. Qatar Airways is increasing services between Hamad International Airport and Dubai International Airport from two to five daily flights in phases, while Air Astana is restoring Dubai operations from Almaty and Astana. Philippine Airlines is also supporting broader Qatar connectivity through an expanded partnership with Qatar Airways and bookable Manila–Doha itineraries for the summer season.

The developments give travelers more choice across major tourism, business and transit markets. They also reinforce the strategic importance of Doha and Dubai as international gateways connecting passengers with destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Qatar Airways Adds More Doha–Dubai Flights

Qatar Airways began the latest phase of its Doha–Dubai expansion on June 5, increasing the route from two to three daily flights. A fourth daily service is scheduled to begin on June 15, while a fifth daily frequency is expected to return during the summer season.

Once the expansion is complete, the airline will offer up to 35 weekly flights between Doha and Dubai. The additional services will operate using Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft, adding flexibility for leisure travelers, corporate passengers and international visitors planning connections through the two Gulf hubs.

The increase follows Qatar Airways’ wider network restoration across the Middle East. The carrier resumed Dubai and Sharjah operations in April and restarted Abu Dhabi flights in May. It is also continuing a broader global expansion designed to serve more than 160 destinations during the summer.

For travelers, the added Doha–Dubai frequencies improve schedule choice throughout the day. For tourism businesses, the larger seat supply can support hotel stays, stopover demand, retail spending and short-haul regional trips.

Philippine Airlines Strengthens Qatar Access

Travel connectivity between the Philippines and Qatar is also gaining attention. Philippine Airlines’ official booking channels are showing Manila–Doha itineraries for the summer travel period, supporting access between the two markets and offering more planning options for travelers.

In parallel, Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines expanded their codeshare partnership from June 1. Philippine Airlines now places its code on Qatar Airways flights from Manila, Cebu, Clark and Davao to Doha, with onward connections to more than 20 European cities through Hamad International Airport. Qatar Airways also places its code on selected Philippine Airlines domestic flights, improving access to leisure destinations including Caticlan and Puerto Princesa.

The partnership can help travelers combine Gulf, European and Philippine destinations within a broader journey. It also supports visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic, labor mobility, business travel and tourism demand.

For Qatar-bound visitors, Doha offers cultural attractions, museums, dining, events and desert experiences. For travelers continuing into the Philippines, domestic connections open access to beach destinations and island tourism markets.

Air Astana Restores Dubai Services from Kazakhstan

Air Astana is also rebuilding Dubai connectivity from Kazakhstan. The airline plans to resume regular Almaty–Dubai services from June 20 and Astana–Dubai flights from July 10.

The restored routes will reconnect two important Central Asian cities with one of the Gulf’s strongest tourism and commercial destinations. Dubai remains attractive for Kazakhstan-based travelers seeking leisure breaks, shopping, family travel, hospitality experiences and onward international connections.

The return of the routes also gives Dubai’s tourism sector another opportunity to capture summer and shoulder-season demand from Central Asia. Hotels, attractions, restaurants and retail businesses can benefit as more travelers regain direct access to the city.

Gulf Hubs Support Wider Tourism Recovery

Together, the route additions and restorations reflect growing confidence in Gulf aviation corridors. Doha and Dubai play different but complementary roles in international travel, combining point-to-point demand with extensive transfer networks.

More flights can improve traveler confidence by expanding departure options and reducing the pressure created by limited schedules. They can also support airlines and airports as they rebuild capacity following recent operational disruptions in the region.

As the summer season progresses, tourism stakeholders will watch booking levels, hotel occupancy, transit volumes and visitor spending closely. The latest airline moves suggest that connectivity between Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines and Kazakhstan is entering a stronger phase, with wider benefits for tourism, aviation and regional economic activity.
