Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for a new daily service between Mumbai and Riyadh, strengthening direct air connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia from 4 August 2026. Operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the route will link Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport with King Khalid International Airport and introduce a new premium option for business travellers, tourists, expatriates and connecting passengers.
The launch places Mumbai within Riyadh Air’s expanding international network and supports Saudi Arabia’s ambition to develop Riyadh as a major global aviation hub. It also gives the airline access to one of India’s most important travel markets, where demand is supported by corporate movement, family visits, employment travel, tourism and onward journeys.
Daily Flights Begin on 4 August 2026
Flight RX0698 will depart Mumbai at 22:05 and arrive in Riyadh at 23:50. The return service, RX0697, will leave Riyadh at 14:05 and land in Mumbai at 20:35.
The schedule serves several passenger segments. The late-evening Mumbai departure can suit travellers completing a working day or arriving from other Indian cities, while the Riyadh departure provides an evening arrival in Mumbai. Daily frequency also offers flexibility for short business trips, family travel and multi-destination itineraries.
Tickets went on sale on 6 July 2026 through Riyadh Air’s digital channels and authorised travel providers, giving passengers almost a month to plan before operations begin.
Boeing 787-9 Brings Premium Product to the Route
Riyadh Air will deploy the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Mumbai service, bringing a widebody aircraft and long-haul cabin standard to the regional route. The airline is positioning spacious interiors, Saudi hospitality, curated dining, digital services, onboard entertainment and connectivity as central parts of its passenger experience.
Using the Dreamliner from the beginning of Indian operations will allow Riyadh Air to showcase its brand in a competitive market. Gulf airlines already carry large numbers of Indian travellers to the Middle East and beyond, making aircraft quality, service, schedules and transfer options important factors in passenger choice.
The aircraft can also support the route’s mix of premium and economy demand. Mumbai generates substantial corporate traffic, while western and central India contribute leisure travellers, visiting friends and relatives, and passengers working in Saudi Arabia.
Mumbai Becomes a Strategic Indian Gateway
Mumbai is India’s financial capital and one of its most influential aviation centres. Its economy spans banking, trade, technology, manufacturing, entertainment and professional services, creating year-round international travel demand.
The direct Riyadh link is expected to support executives, investors and professionals travelling between two fast-developing economies. It will also serve Indian residents visiting relatives or returning to employment in Saudi Arabia, a market that depends on regular air services.
For inbound travellers, Mumbai provides access to a major urban tourism destination and domestic connections across India. Visitors can combine business travel with the city’s waterfront, heritage districts, cultural venues, shopping, dining and entertainment attractions.
Riyadh Strengthens Its Tourism and Business Appeal
Riyadh is expanding its international profile through new hotels, entertainment districts, cultural attractions, exhibitions, conferences and urban development. The Mumbai route gives Indian travellers a more direct way to reach the Saudi capital for corporate activity, events and leisure stays.
The service also supports Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions by improving access from one of the world’s largest outbound travel markets. Indian visitors represent an important opportunity for hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers and event organisers as the Kingdom diversifies its visitor economy.
Travellers arriving in Riyadh may also continue to other destinations within Saudi Arabia, including Jeddah, while business guests can use the capital as a base for meetings and investment activity.
Onward Connections Expand Travel Choices
Riyadh Air is developing Riyadh as a transfer hub between Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Mumbai passengers are expected to gain onward options to destinations including London, Madrid, Cairo and Jeddah as the network expands.
This connecting role gives the route value beyond direct India–Saudi Arabia travel. One-stop journeys could appeal to Indian passengers heading to Europe or regional Middle Eastern cities, while inbound connections may bring more international visitors through Riyadh to Mumbai.
Sfeer Loyalty Benefits Target Early Passengers
Riyadh Air is inviting travellers to join Sfeer, its loyalty programme, including as Founding Members. Benefits promoted by the airline include access to direct-booking offers, points that do not expire, priority assistance and complimentary onboard Wi-Fi as the service is introduced.
The loyalty strategy can help Riyadh Air establish repeat demand in India. Business travellers, frequent family visitors and connecting passengers are particularly likely to value rewards, digital support and consistent daily schedules.
The Mumbai launch marks an important step in Riyadh Air’s international growth and India–Saudi Arabia aviation ties. From 4 August 2026, the daily Boeing 787-9 service will add capacity, competition and a premium travel choice while strengthening Riyadh’s position as an emerging global gateway.
