France and Greece are gaining major new boutique hospitality offerings as Accor accelerates the European growth of its MGallery Collection through two distinctive coastal properties.
In France, the 102-room Bel Hotel Oléron Thalasso & Spa – MGallery Collection has opened on Île d’Oléron, combining Atlantic Ocean scenery, wellness and thalassotherapy.
Meanwhile, in Greece, a new 222-room MGallery Rhodes is under development in Kallithea and is scheduled to welcome guests in spring 2027.
The two projects highlight different approaches to destination-led luxury. One focuses on marine wellness and nature on France’s Atlantic coast. The other is being developed as an adults-only Aegean retreat shaped around privacy, gastronomy and the identity of Rhodes.
Together, they strengthen MGallery’s presence in Europe while expanding accommodation choices for travellers seeking hotels closely connected with their destinations.
Rhodes gains first MGallery hotel
MGallery Rhodes is being developed through a partnership between MGallery Collection and Colossos SA, a family-owned hospitality company with an established presence on the island.
The resort will become the first MGallery Collection hotel in Rhodes when it opens in spring 2027.
Located in Kallithea, the property will feature 222 guestrooms, suites and bungalows, all designed around views of the Aegean Sea.
The adults-only concept will place particular emphasis on privacy and personalised hospitality.
Many accommodation categories are expected to include private pools, creating a more secluded resort experience for couples and leisure travellers seeking premium island escapes.
The architecture will use organic forms, natural materials and design references connected with the landscape and cultural identity of Rhodes.
Rather than following a standardised resort model, the property is intended to reflect the character of its destination.
Dining and wellness anchor Rhodes resort
Food and beverage will play a major role in the guest experience.
The resort is planned with five restaurants, several bars and a dedicated cocktail venue, giving guests multiple dining and social options during their stay.
Mediterranean influences will sit alongside broader international culinary offerings.
Wellness will be another defining element.
A spa covering approximately 1,100 square metres is planned, supported by collaborations with Swiss skincare brands Valmont and Swiss Perfection.
Tennis and padel facilities will broaden the leisure offering beyond treatments and relaxation.
The development also strengthens MGallery’s footprint in Greece, where the brand already has a presence in destinations including Athens, Crete and Mykonos, with further expansion planned elsewhere.
For Rhodes, the project adds another internationally recognised premium hotel product to an island already known globally for beaches, heritage and resort tourism.
France welcomes Atlantic wellness retreat
In France, MGallery has taken a different approach with Bel Hotel Oléron Thalasso & Spa – MGallery Collection.
The 102-room property is located near Gatseau Beach on Île d’Oléron, between pine forests and the Atlantic Ocean.
Its setting plays a central role in the hotel concept.
Rooms and suites have been designed to connect guests with the surrounding natural environment, with balconies or terraces and views toward either the forest or ocean.
Interiors use natural materials, soft woods and coastal tones intended to reflect the character of the island.
The result is a quieter, nature-led boutique experience shaped around the rhythm of the Atlantic coast.
Thalassotherapy defines guest experience
Wellness is at the heart of the French property.
The Spa & Thalasso concept incorporates seawater-based treatments and facilities inspired by the hotel’s oceanfront setting.
The wellness programme includes 27 treatment rooms, indoor pools, sauna and hammam facilities, along with marine-focused therapies.
The hotel has also partnered with French skincare brand Phytomer, reinforcing the connection between the spa experience and marine wellness.
Thalassotherapy gives the property a clear tourism identity, particularly for travellers seeking restorative escapes centred on seawater, relaxation and coastal nature.
This positions the hotel to attract wellness travellers as well as guests exploring Île d’Oléron and France’s Atlantic coastline.
Regional dining strengthens sense of place
Dining has also been designed around local identity.
The culinary direction is linked with Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire, with an emphasis on seafood, seasonal produce and ingredients connected to the surrounding region.
This focus supports the wider MGallery philosophy of creating properties that reflect their destinations rather than offering identical guest experiences across markets.
In Rhodes, that philosophy will be expressed through Aegean views, island architecture, Mediterranean dining and adults-only relaxation.
On Île d’Oléron, it appears through Atlantic wellness, pine forest surroundings, marine therapies and regional cuisine.
Boutique tourism gains momentum
MGallery Collection has continued expanding as Accor develops its boutique and experience-led hospitality portfolio.
Official Accor figures listed 129 MGallery hotels and 14,903 rooms worldwide at the end of 2025, while the brand continues building a broader international pipeline.
The two coastal projects illustrate how the collection is using distinctive locations to create different forms of premium tourism.
For France, Bel Hotel Oléron strengthens wellness and coastal tourism on the Atlantic.
For Greece, MGallery Rhodes will add a large adults-only resort designed around privacy, gastronomy and island experiences.
With one property already welcoming guests and another scheduled for 2027, Accor is reinforcing MGallery’s European presence while responding to growing traveller interest in hotels that combine destination identity, wellness, design and memorable experiences.
