Lotte Hotels & Resorts and Highgate have launched a strategic partnership spanning the Americas and Asia, with Highgate assuming management of the 909-room Lotte New York Palace Hotel in Midtown Manhattan from June 2026.
The agreement places one of New York City’s best-known luxury hotels at the center of a wider collaboration covering hotel operations, global distribution, hospitality technology and talent development. Lotte will retain full ownership of the property, while Highgate will oversee day-to-day operations, revenue management, sales, marketing and labor relations.
For travelers, the partnership could support a more connected hospitality experience across key international markets. The two companies plan to align their strengths in Asia and the Americas while exploring new opportunities to serve guests moving between major leisure and business destinations.
New York Landmark Anchors Global Strategy
Lotte New York Palace stands at 455 Madison Avenue, directly across from St. Patrick’s Cathedral and within walking distance of Rockefeller Center. The property combines the historic Villard Houses with a modern tower, offering a distinctive setting for luxury stays, weddings, meetings and city breaks.
The hotel’s 909 rooms and suites include accommodations within The Palace and The Towers. The Towers occupy the upper floors and deliver an elevated experience with upgraded amenities, while the wider property includes restaurants, bars, a spa, a salon and approximately 30,000 square feet of event space.
The location strengthens the hotel’s appeal for international visitors exploring Manhattan. Guests can access major attractions, Fifth Avenue shopping, cultural landmarks and business districts from a central Midtown base.
Lotte acquired the hotel in 2015 and reintroduced it as Lotte New York Palace. More recently, the company secured ownership of the underlying land, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the property and its North American expansion strategy.
Highgate Brings Extensive Hotel Management Experience
Highgate enters the partnership with a substantial hospitality footprint. The company operates and manages hotels across North America, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America, with experience spanning luxury, lifestyle, full-service and select-service properties.
Its capabilities include hotel operations, revenue management, distribution, development and hospitality technology. Highgate’s established presence in New York City makes the company a significant partner for Lotte as the Palace enters its next operational phase.
The collaboration also extends beyond Manhattan. Highgate is expected to serve as a preferred operating partner for additional Lotte-affiliated assets in North America as the companies explore growth opportunities across the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.
Distribution Plans Target International Travelers
Global distribution will form an important part of the Lotte Hotels Highgate partnership. The companies plan to collaborate across direct booking channels, group travel, wholesale business, loyalty programs and intermediary platforms.
The aim is to strengthen travel demand between Asian and Western markets. Guests from South Korea and other parts of Asia could gain greater access to Highgate-managed properties across the Americas and Europe, while travelers from North America and Europe may discover more Lotte hotels across Asia-Pacific destinations.
This cross-market approach could benefit leisure travelers, corporate guests and event organizers seeking more consistent booking experiences across multiple regions. It also positions both companies to capture demand from international visitors planning multi-destination journeys.
Technology Collaboration Focuses on Guest Experience
The partnership includes plans to develop and deploy new revenue-management and demand-forecasting systems. The companies will also explore technology applications in areas such as predictive maintenance, energy management, workforce planning and financial automation.
Guest-facing personalization is another priority. Lotte and Highgate intend to evaluate unified guest-recognition and recommendation systems that could improve service delivery across their portfolios.
For travelers, these developments may create smoother stays, more relevant offers and stronger service continuity when moving between destinations.
Talent Exchange Supports Luxury Service Standards
A formal talent exchange and secondment program will allow executives and high-potential hospitality professionals to rotate between properties and offices across markets.
The initiative is designed to strengthen operational knowledge, leadership development and cross-cultural understanding. It will also help teams share expertise in Asian and Western luxury service standards.
Partnership Opens New Growth Chapter
The Lotte Hotels Highgate partnership reflects the growing importance of international collaboration in luxury hospitality. By combining Lotte’s established Asian presence with Highgate’s operational scale and management expertise, the agreement creates new opportunities across hotels, tourism markets and gateway cities.
With Lotte New York Palace as its flagship starting point, the partnership is positioned to enhance guest experiences while supporting future expansion across the Americas and Asia.
