Now Carnival Cruise Line Unveils 2027 Alaska and Pacific Itineraries with Three Ships Sailing from Seattle and San Francisco

Explore Carnival Cruise Line’s 2027 Alaska cruises from Seattle & San Francisco with over 50 sailings, Panama Canal trips, Baja Mexico & Hawaii voyages.

Alaska

Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled an ambitious and diverse 2027 cruise schedule, expanding its Alaska and Pacific offerings with three ships—Carnival Spirit, Carnival Legend, and Carnival Luminosa—homeported in Seattle and San Francisco. The expanded deployment includes over 50 itineraries, highlighting Alaska’s majestic beauty, tropical voyages to Hawaii and Mexico, and transcontinental repositioning cruises through the Panama Canal.

Alaska Cruises from Seattle and San Francisco

Carnival’s 2027 Alaska season, operating from May through September, will offer an immersive experience into the Last Frontier’s iconic natural wonders. Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend will sail from Seattle, while Carnival Luminosa will operate from San Francisco, making it one of the most comprehensive Alaska cruise schedules to date.

Carnival Spirit will operate 20 seven-day roundtrip Alaska cruises starting April 29, 2027, with ports of call including Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord, and Victoria, British Columbia. Additionally, a unique nine-day itinerary will include a stop in Sitka, providing an extended glimpse into Alaska’s Indigenous culture and Russian heritage.

Carnival Legend, also based in Seattle, will offer 22 week-long Alaska cruises, beginning April 20, 2027. The ship will mirror Carnival Spirit’s popular itinerary, reinforcing Seattle’s importance as a key hub for Carnival’s Alaska operations.

Carnival Luminosa, starting May 3, 2027, will sail 10-day Alaska cruises from San Francisco. Passengers can expect stops in Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Prince Rupert, Canada. With extended port times and breathtaking glacier views, these cruises are ideal for nature lovers and first-time Alaska travelers.

Repositioning Voyages and Panama Canal Journeys

Beyond Alaska, Carnival’s 2027 program features several unique repositioning cruises—offering travelers an extended adventure across international waters.

Carnival Spirit kicks off the year with a nine-day Caribbean cruise from Mobile, Alabama on March 20, 2027, visiting Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Montego Bay, and Isla Tropicale. On March 29, it embarks on a 16-day Panama Canal cruise, including full canal transit and stops in Cartagena, Puntarenas, and Cabo San Lucas.

Carnival Legend will reposition from Tampa to Seattle on April 4, 2027, on a 16-day cruise that marks Carnival’s return to Acapulco for the first time in over 17 years. The itinerary also includes Cartagena, Santa Marta, and a Panama Canal crossing. Acapulco, with its iconic cliff divers and golden beaches, will be a major highlight for guests seeking culturally rich destinations.

Hawaiian Escapes and Baja Mexico Getaways

In addition to Alaska and Panama Canal sailings, Carnival’s 2027 program offers several tropical alternatives.

On April 14, Carnival Spirit sets out from Seattle on a 15-day Hawaii cruise, stopping in Honolulu, Hilo, Kahului, Nawiliwili, and Victoria, BC. The ship returns to Hawaii again in late September for another extended sailing.

Similarly, Carnival Legend will depart Seattle for Hawaii on September 21, 2027, visiting the same popular Hawaiian islands, combining lush rainforests, volcanic landscapes, and white-sand beaches.

Carnival Luminosa will also diversify its San Francisco sailings by offering nine four-day Baja Mexico cruises to Ensenada, departing on Thursdays and returning on Mondays. These shorter itineraries cater to weekend travelers and provide an accessible escape to Mexico’s Pacific Coast, famed for its food, surf, and vibrant port culture.

Booking Outlook and Travel Demand

Carnival’s decision to station three ships on the U.S. West Coast underscores the growing popularity of Alaska and Pacific cruises. According to Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), Alaska cruise demand has surged in recent years, with 2024 and 2025 itineraries already selling out months in advance.

With over 50 scheduled sailings, a blend of seven- to 16-day voyages, and bucket-list destinations across North America, Central America, and the Pacific, Carnival’s 2027 offerings cater to a wide range of travelers—from adventure seekers and families to retirees and solo explorers.

Planning Your Carnival Cruise

Given the early announcement and expected high demand, guests are encouraged to book well in advance. Carnival also offers Carnival Journeys, a collection of longer, immersive voyages designed to deepen cultural discovery through onboard enrichment programs, destination-focused menus, and special shore excursions.

All 2027 cruises will feature Carnival’s signature Fun Ship experience, including live entertainment, family-friendly programming, diverse dining options, and newly refreshed staterooms.
