Saudi Arabia’s aviation expansion will gain fresh momentum on August 4, 2026, when Riyadh Air begins daily nonstop flights between Mumbai and Riyadh, introducing a new full-service travel option for Indian passengers while strengthening tourism, business and family connections between the two countries.
The route will become Riyadh Air’s first scheduled service from India and will connect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport with King Khalid International Airport. Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners configured with Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins will operate the daily service.
Ticket sales opened on July 6 through Riyadh Air’s official digital platforms and authorised travel channels. The launch gives the airline direct access to one of India’s most important commercial and outbound travel markets while supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambition to establish Riyadh as a major international aviation hub.
Daily Schedule Supports Business and Leisure Travel
Flight RX0697 is scheduled to depart Riyadh at 14:05 and arrive in Mumbai at 20:35. The return service, RX0698, will leave Mumbai at 22:05 and reach Riyadh at 23:50, with all times listed locally.
The evening departure from Mumbai may appeal to corporate passengers completing a working day before travelling. Meanwhile, the evening arrival in India offers a practical option for returning residents, families and visitors connecting to wider transport networks.
Daily frequency will also provide flexibility for short business trips, conferences, family visits and leisure holidays. However, passengers should confirm final departure times, terminals and connection windows before travelling because operational schedules may change.
Mumbai Becomes Riyadh Air’s First Indian Gateway
Mumbai offers Riyadh Air immediate access to India’s leading financial, entertainment and corporate centre. Its airport also serves travellers from across Maharashtra and western India, supporting both direct traffic and domestic connections.
The route is backed by strong commercial, social and cultural links between India and Saudi Arabia. Bilateral trade reached USD 41.88 billion during the 2024–25 financial year, while employment, investment and family connections continue to generate regular passenger movement.
For Indian travellers, the service will provide another nonstop option for reaching Saudi Arabia’s capital. Saudi passengers will gain direct access to Mumbai’s business districts, medical facilities, shopping areas, cultural landmarks and broader tourism network.
Four Cabin Experiences Target Diverse Travellers
Riyadh Air will deploy its 290-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the route, offering four cabin categories designed for different budgets and travel requirements.
Business Elite and Business cabins will target executives and premium leisure passengers seeking greater privacy and comfort. Premium Economy will provide additional space for travellers wanting an upgraded experience without purchasing a business-class ticket, while Economy will serve families, workers, tourists and value-conscious passengers.
The aircraft will also feature seat-back entertainment screens, charging facilities, Bluetooth connectivity and USB-C access. These features are expected to benefit business passengers working across time zones, families seeking onboard entertainment and travellers continuing beyond Riyadh.
Fare inclusions may vary, making it important for passengers to compare checked baggage, seat selection, lounge access, ticket changes and refund conditions before booking.
Sfeer Loyalty Programme Adds Digital Benefits
Passengers can join Riyadh Air’s Sfeer loyalty programme and earn eligible points while accessing additional digital and travel benefits. Sfeer Points do not expire, while Level Points will support membership progression as the programme expands.
Members booking directly may receive benefits including priority assistance, onboard Wi-Fi access and the airline’s Best Offer Guaranteed proposition. Sfeer is also developing partnerships extending beyond aviation, including hospitality, mobility and entertainment brands such as Hilton, Uber and muvi Cinemas.
Travellers should register before booking and ensure their membership number is attached to the reservation to avoid missing eligible rewards.
Riyadh Strengthens Its Role as a Connecting Hub
Riyadh Air plans to offer Mumbai passengers selected onward connections to regional and European destinations. Its developing network includes cities such as London, Madrid, Manchester, Dubai, Cairo and Jeddah, giving Indian travellers another potential one-stop gateway.
Passengers should assess total journey time, connection periods, baggage arrangements, visa requirements and ticket protection when comparing itineraries. Booking all sectors on one ticket generally provides stronger assistance during delays or missed connections than purchasing separate flights.
The route also supports Saudi Arabia’s wider aviation programme, which targets annual capacity of 330 million passengers, links to more than 250 destinations and cargo capacity of 4.5 million tonnes by 2030.
New Capacity Supports Tourism and Economic Growth
The Mumbai launch will give travel agencies, tour operators and corporate travel managers another product for India–Saudi Arabia itineraries. Daily services and four cabin categories will provide greater flexibility for business groups, families and mixed-budget travellers.
For Saudi Arabia, the connection could increase Indian visitor demand for Riyadh’s growing portfolio of conferences, exhibitions, entertainment venues, restaurants, shopping districts and cultural attractions. It may also encourage short stopovers as the capital expands its tourism offering under Vision 2030.
Riyadh Air’s success in India will depend on reliable operations, competitive pricing, strong distribution and convenient onward connections. Nevertheless, the launch immediately increases passenger choice and signals that India will play an important role in the airline’s long-term international growth.
