Emirates has unveiled a next-generation lounge concept that will reshape its premium airport experience across major international destinations, reinforcing the UAE carrier’s position at the forefront of global luxury aviation.
The new design has already been introduced in Munich and Frankfurt, while additional Emirates lounges in Manchester, Mauritius and Istanbul are scheduled to adopt the concept during 2026. Manchester is planned to follow in July, Mauritius in August and Istanbul in October.
Emirates will invest more than AED 50 million in each next-generation lounge, reflecting the scale of the airline’s effort to create a consistent premium journey from airport arrival to aircraft boarding.
The initiative moves beyond a conventional lounge refurbishment. It introduces a complete hospitality environment built around dining, productivity, relaxation, wellness, cultural identity and digital connectivity.
Global Rollout Begins Across Key Aviation Hubs
Munich and Frankfurt have become the first international locations to showcase the redesigned Emirates lounge experience. These upgraded facilities will serve as blueprints for lounges across the airline’s global network.
The rollout supports Emirates’ strategy of delivering a recognizable luxury standard regardless of departure point. While each lounge can incorporate locally inspired elements, the overall architecture, service style and visual identity remain closely connected to the airline’s premium cabins and flagship Dubai facilities.
Emirates currently operates 42 dedicated lounges, including eight at Dubai International Airport and 34 at major airports around the world. The network serves important destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and North America.
By upgrading lounges outside Dubai, Emirates is strengthening the consistency of its global passenger experience and giving premium customers access to the airline’s design and hospitality standards before they board.
More Than 50 Design Enhancements Introduced
The new lounge concept includes more than 50 design enhancements and translates the visual character of Emirates’ latest aircraft interiors into a sophisticated airport environment.
Design details include herringbone flooring, integrated lighting, marble and gold accents, contemporary furniture and the backlit Emirates Ghaf Tree motif. The Ghaf Tree, the national tree of the UAE, brings a distinctive cultural connection to each lounge while reinforcing the airline’s Emirati identity.
Italian eco-leather seating, carefully arranged spaces and warm interior tones create a premium atmosphere designed to feel elegant without becoming overly formal.
The lounges are divided into dedicated areas for working, dining, socializing and resting. This zoning system allows passengers with different needs to use the same space comfortably while supporting smoother movement during busy departure periods.
Dining Experience Focuses on Culinary Theatre
Dining is one of the most significant elements of the redesigned lounge experience. Emirates has introduced live cooking stations where dishes can be prepared to order, supported by hot and cold buffet selections refreshed throughout the day and night.
Menus will combine international choices with regional specialities. A dedicated “Made In” section will highlight local cuisine in each destination, helping connect the lounge experience with the city in which it operates.
A bread oven will produce pizzas, flatbreads and manakeesh inspired by Dubai, adding freshly prepared items and aromas to the dining area.
Premium beverage selections will include champagne, wines, beers and spirits. The new barista bar concept will offer speciality coffee, artisan tea and drinks prepared by an in-house mixologist, including locally inspired cocktails and alcohol-free alternatives.
Quiet Zones Support Rest and Recovery
Passenger wellness is central to the new concept, particularly for customers preparing for long-haul flights or spending extended periods in transit.
Quiet Zones include comfortable seating, soft lighting, blankets, eye masks and earplugs. Emirates lounges will continue operating as silent environments, creating a calmer alternative to busy terminal areas.
Upgraded shower suites feature spa-inspired finishes and sustainable amenities, allowing travelers to refresh before boarding or during a connection.
The design also includes private meeting spaces, breastfeeding rooms and separate male and female prayer rooms with ablution facilities and integrated Qibla directions.
A signature lounge scent combining bergamot, citrus, jasmine and soft wood contributes to the overall atmosphere, alongside local plants and fresh floral displays.
Smart Technology Supports Modern Travelers
Technology has been integrated throughout the new lounges rather than limited to designated business areas.
Wireless charging and universal power access are available at every seat, supporting passengers using laptops, smartphones and other devices. Private workspaces and communal areas allow customers to choose between focused productivity and informal collaboration.
The layouts are intended to serve business travelers, families, solo passengers and passengers seeking uninterrupted rest within the same premium environment.
Emirates Strengthens Its Luxury Travel Ecosystem
The lounge rollout complements Emirates’ wider investments in aircraft refurbishment, Premium Economy expansion, upgraded cabin interiors and digital connectivity.
Together, these initiatives create a more unified premium travel ecosystem covering every stage of the journey.
First Class and Business Class customers, as well as eligible Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members, receive complimentary lounge access. Paid access is also available, extending the experience to additional travelers.
Through its next-generation lounge programme, Emirates is transforming airport waiting time into an important part of the luxury journey and setting higher expectations for premium hospitality across the global aviation industry.
