LOT Polish Airlines plans four weekly long-haul charter routes from Bucharest for the winter 2026–2027 holiday season. The programme connects Romania’s capital with Bangkok, Phu Quoc, Cancún and Puerto Plata using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
Organised alongside Romanian tour operators, the seasonal services offer nonstop access to destinations in Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Departures will operate from Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport during separate windows between November 2026 and March 2027.
For Romanian holidaymakers, the programme offers an alternative to connecting itineraries through overseas hubs. For destination businesses, it creates dedicated seasonal access to Romania’s outbound leisure market.
Caribbean Flights Open the Winter Programme
Puerto Plata will receive the first services, with the operating window running from 19 November 2026 to 4 February 2027. The Dominican Republic route will operate weekly on Thursdays under flight numbers LO6501 and LO6502.
The connection gives travellers direct access to the country’s northern coastline. Beach resorts, water sports and historical attractions form part of the destination’s leisure appeal.
Cancún follows with weekly Thursday services scheduled between 4 February and 18 March 2027. Flights LO6507 and LO6508 will connect Bucharest with the Mexican gateway.
For visitors, Cancún provides access to holidays along the Riviera Maya. The route adds a nonstop option for Romanian travellers considering Mexico’s Caribbean coast.
The two operating windows meet on 4 February. They represent distinct seasonal programmes rather than identical services running throughout winter.
Thailand and Vietnam Add Asian Holiday Choices
The Phu Quoc programme is scheduled from 20 November 2026 to 2 January 2027. Weekly flights will use numbers LO6567 and LO6568, with Friday departures from Bucharest and Saturday return rotations.
The Vietnamese island adds a beach-focused Asian destination to the winter selection. Its resort accommodation gives package operators another option when assembling longer overseas holidays.
Bangkok services are scheduled between 1 January and 20 March 2027. Flights LO6503 and LO6504 will operate weekly, departing Bucharest on Fridays and returning on Saturdays.
The planned outbound timing places arrival in Bangkok on Saturday morning. This gives travellers an Asian city gateway alongside the programme’s island and coastal destinations.
The staggered schedules spread the four destinations across different portions of winter. Travellers will therefore need to match their preferred destination with its specific departure window.
Dreamliner Aircraft Bring Three Cabin Options
LOT plans to use Boeing 787-8 aircraft across all four routes. The twin-aisle aircraft will offer business class, premium economy and economy accommodation.
The described configuration includes lie-flat business seats and personal entertainment screens in economy. These features give passengers different comfort options for extended journeys.
However, cabin availability and package inclusions will depend on the holiday product booked. Travellers should confirm their selected cabin when reviewing offers from participating operators.
Nonstop flying also simplifies the journey by removing an intermediate airport connection. Passengers can avoid coordinating separate flight sectors when travelling between Bucharest and their chosen destination.
That convenience may appeal particularly to travellers prioritising straightforward departures and fewer airport transfers during their holiday.
Tour Operators Shape Access to the Programme
The services form a charter programme arranged with Romanian tourism businesses. Seats will predominantly appear within holiday packages, rather than conventional scheduled-flight sales.
Those packages can combine air travel with accommodation and destination transfers. However, individual products may differ in hotel standards, included services and payment conditions.
Travellers should therefore assess the complete package alongside the flight schedule. A direct connection provides convenience, while accommodation and transfer arrangements shape the experience after arrival.
For tour operators, four destinations allow a broader winter portfolio from one departure airport. The programme spans city access, island stays and coastal resort holidays.
Tourism Opportunity Depends on Bookings
The planned routes create an additional channel through which overseas destinations can reach Romanian customers. Hotels, excursion providers and transfer businesses could benefit from passengers travelling on these services.
However, the announced schedule does not establish passenger totals, occupancy levels or additional visitor spending. Those outcomes will depend on bookings and completed operations.
The programme also adds long-haul charter activity at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. Its significance lies in the specific seasonal connections offered to travellers.
Any extension beyond the published winter windows would require a further announcement. For now, holidaymakers can assess four planned nonstop options against their dates, budgets and preferred destinations.
