Cygnett Hotels Targets Over 10,000 Keys by 2031 with Major Expansion Plan

India’s hospitality sector continues to attract investment as hotel groups look beyond established metropolitan destinations to tap emerging business, leisure and pilgrimage markets. Adding to this momentum, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has announced an ambitious expansion and profitability roadmap for 2027–2028, with plans to grow its portfolio to more than 10,000 keys by 2031. The strategy signals the company’s next phase of growth across India and South Asia, combining new hotel development with stronger operational performance.

The announcement was made during THRIVE 2026, the group’s ninth Annual General Managers’ Conclave, held on October 29–30 at Cygnett Collection, Gurugram. As the company marks 12 years of operations, it is preparing to scale its presence through a development pipeline of 55 hotels and resorts, representing approximately 3,750 keys. New openings, brand diversification and expansion into high-potential destinations are expected to support this target.

Wyndham Alliance to Support Regional Expansion

A significant element of Cygnett’s growth strategy is its strategic alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The partnership is expected to strengthen the group’s international reach, distribution capabilities and brand portfolio while supporting its expansion across India and South Asia.

By combining Cygnett’s understanding of regional markets with Wyndham’s global network and established hospitality brands, the collaboration creates opportunities to reach new destinations and attract a wider range of travellers. It also supports the group’s ambition to build a stronger presence in markets where organised accommodation demand is growing.

Profitability and Technology at the Centre of Growth

While expanding its hotel portfolio remains a priority, Cygnett is also placing greater emphasis on improving property-level profitability and financial performance. Its 2027–2028 roadmap identifies revenue per available room (RevPAR), gross operating profit (GOP), market share, cost efficiency and returns for hotel owners as key performance indicators.

Technology will play an increasingly important role in this approach. The company plans to strengthen revenue management and operational decision-making through artificial intelligence, automation, digitalisation and data analytics. These tools are expected to help improve efficiency, manage operating costs and support more informed business decisions as the group takes on a larger portfolio.

Commenting on the company’s future direction, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said the next phase would focus on translating the group’s growth into stronger performance, profitability and global competitiveness. He also highlighted the importance of its 55-property development pipeline and the Wyndham alliance in achieving the ambition of exceeding 10,000 keys by 2031.

THRIVE 2026 Focuses on Leadership and Guest Experience

Held under the theme “From Evolution to Excellence – Building Cygnett 2027–2028,” THRIVE 2026 brought together the company’s general managers and corporate leadership. The conclave focused on developing future-ready leaders, strengthening accountability and aligning hotel operations with the group’s business priorities.

Guest experience remains another important part of the expansion strategy. Cygnett plans to reinforce its service philosophy through initiatives such as the Cygnetture Experience, Namaskar Culture and Emotional Unlimited Hospitality, with the aim of maintaining consistent service standards across its growing portfolio.

Emerging Destinations Offer New Opportunities

Cygnett sees considerable potential in India’s expanding domestic travel market, supported by infrastructure development, spiritual tourism, destination weddings and corporate mobility. These trends are creating opportunities for organised hospitality beyond traditional metropolitan and established leisure destinations.

For Cygnett, the challenge ahead will be to ensure that rapid expansion is matched by sustainable financial performance and consistent guest experiences. With a sizeable development pipeline, an international hospitality alliance and a stronger focus on technology-led operations, the group is positioning itself for its next stage of growth across India and South Asia. Its 2031 target will ultimately depend not only on how quickly new properties are added, but also on how effectively the company turns that expansion into long-term value for guests, partners and hotel owners.
